  1. That happened to me before surgery, but after surgery it hasn't been so bad. I just remember pre-surgery when I first started a high protein diet and protein shakes that I couldn't brush enough, chew gum enough, mouthwash enough!! I think since I added veggies in that helps keep things balanced. As Cathy said, ketosis brings it on . . . fun fun fun!!
  2. Thanks! I did lose some in the couple of weeks pre-surgery on my pre-surgery diet and liquid diet. I am pretty consistent now with about 2.5 pounds per week loss as an average. I feel like it's slower than some, but my skin is not causing "shrinkles" yet and maybe that's because I am not losing lots of pounds a week. Who knows! We all go on this journey, but it seems like everyone takes a different, unique path! I am thrilled - haven't been this weight since 2002.
  3. I'm about 4 months out . . . and I've tried a bunch of things. I use benefiber in my two shakes a day, as well as taking Milk of Magnesia at night (not every night, but a couple of times a week.) It's probably the worst thing about the surgery - I feel toxic half the time from not going! Check with your surgeon and see if they have suggestions also. My surgeon gave me a prescription for Ametiza (sp?), but that didn't really help me. Good luck! *D*
  4. Hello everyone! I'm glad to have found this site! I am 4 1/2 months post RNY surgery (Feb 9) and down 87 pounds so far. I feel great, am lucky to have had no complications at all. I walk ALOT, and just recently started riding my bike again. I look forward to sharing and learning with you all! *D*
