This is such a great idea!! I'm one of the biggest offenders when it comes to jumping on and off that scale lol I'd find my self weighing in everytime I set foot in the bathroom so this is going to take some serious self restraint lol better yet I'm gonna hide that scale and only bring it out on fridays :D

Pre-surg wt

3/23 319lbs

3/26 Date of Surg

3/30 309.5lbs

4/6 302lbs

4/13 298.6lbs

4/20 forgot to write down

4/27 294.0lbs

My scale is underneath my bed...but I went for my 6 weeks check up yesterday of course they weighed me! My scale reads 257.... theirs read 253....either way I'll take it! I rushed home to use my own scale so I now know its 4 lbs different that the Dr office scale. I'll be doing my usual Friday weigh in though :D

I need to get a new house scale; I wasn't able to get weighed until I went to my doctor yesterday (unfortunately now I have a terrible upper respiratory infection and on liquid antibiotics uggghhhh) so house scale will have to wait lol.

Starting weight: 268 lb

On surgery day, 4/17: 254 lb

4/23: 249 lb

4/29: 240 lb

Thanks so much for your kind words. Being sick now is setting me back on eating/drinking. My throat is so sore I can't even think of doing either. But I'm forcing the Protein shakes and fluids to try and stay hydrated and nourished. Hope this goes away soon!

I can't even imagine what it must be like I know that its hard enough for me to eat just because I'm not hungry let alone being sick! It's crazy in one aspect I love the feeling of being in control over my hungar and eating but than eating is more of a chore now lol. I hope you get to feelin' better :)

I started my liquid diet on march 26th at 405. Had my surgery on April 23rd at 382 and today my scale says 366. I have absolutely no problems or complications so far. I sometimes don't even feel like I had it done, well aside from the little incisions still on my belly lol. I haven't eaten to much or drank to much to have any discomfort. Feeling amazing. So far best decision I've made.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
