I drink regular caffeinated coffee everyday - now granted I only have one cup but I still need that pick me up in the morning. Water, crystal light, etc throughout the day - no soda.

I was told to limit my caffeine. I had my first appt with the nutritionist this week and she reviewed my food journal. She didn't say anything about my cup of coffee that have nearly everyday and is not decaf.

My md said coffee was fine I drink 3/4 mug in a.m and 1/2 mug after dinner .

They actually don't care as long as you don't combine it with empty calories.

When you have to exist on 600 calories a day, exercise, I have to have coffee to work 80 hrs a wk . That's just the way it is. And I'm losing weight very rapidly down tiv150

Go for the pickles! My doctor said it is ok to add caffiene back. I chose to quit 2.5 months before the surgery. Took me a couple of weeks and the headaches were awful. I'd keep a diet soda in a cooler with a screw on lid and take a sip if I could not take it anymore and then not take another unless needed. A little hair of the dog. I switched to decaf diet coke at the time. Three weeks ago I quit carbonated drinks and that about killed me. I was an addict, drinking probably 7 diet cokes a day. I do feel my appetite is a little less after quitting carbonation. I have personally decided that I can do decaf tea and decaf coffee at home, and if I am in a restaurant or over the road and I choose caffiene, ok... I do not want to ever return to the point if I don't have it the next day my head is splitting off my body. I also wonder if I had quit diet coke and carbonation years ago would diets have been more successful. Guess I'll never know because I'm scheduled in a couple of weeks and I'm going forward with this.

Hehe, funny combination. I drink coffee, with skimmed milk, every so often. As for pickles, I had a craving for that last night. I took a small bite of one and although chewing the hell out of it and it tasted amazing; it hit my stomach and my stomach gave me gas as pay back! It wasn't painful gas, I hasten to add.. but I was gassy! :)

Isopure protein has a columbian "coffee" powder mix. i mix it with 30 cal. almond milk. very good!!!

Haha, my md gave me a very disapproving look and told me that I'd burn a hole in my stomach when I told him about the pickles the other day!

Maybe he thought you were going to drink the vinegar whilst chowing down on a large one?! lol (sorry, that was infantile, but moderately amusing in my head nonetheless!) :) x

I make coffee "smoothies" with ice, almond milk (unsweetened), and a scoop of Syntrax nectar cappuccino protein....
