Can anyone point me to a list of local Support Groups

Recommended Posts

It seems like I saw a link somewhere on VST that pointed to all the available local support groups in the US, perhaps broken down by state, etc. I looked a few minutes ago, but could not find it. Can anyone point me to it please.

Thanks

Can anyone point me to a list of local Support Groups

ItsMe2033

I never heard of a link to different support groups

if you had WLS at X hospital, check with their schedule for a support group

or ask your NUT/surgeon

if you had your sleeve out of state, ie Mexico...............

IMO you can still check with any hospital around you, tell them your situation

they "hopefully, should" be helpful

55 lbs down

party dance, party dance :)

keep up the good work :)

good luck

I haven't seen a list like that....as Kathy said, check local hospitals......The ride to the support group my surgeon's office offered are hell to get to.......there's a closer hospital (who doesn't typically do VSG)......and they welcomed me with open arms....Good luck

I found the original VST thread that points to it. It is http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/53953-charlotte-nc-area/page__st__20#entry572632

That thread links to the site that contained the directory. It is located at

http://asmbs.org/support-group-directory/

Unfortunately they are redoing that section of their website. I accessed it perhaps a month ago and it was working, so hopefully they will have it up sometime soon.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
