Sniffle, cough, sneeze

Recommended Posts

Six weeks postop, leaving on Saturday for two weeks in Paris, and I have a cold. WAH.

I never get sick. I wanted to lose weight, not my immune system. WAH.

I have too many freaking errands to run today and tomorrow to be still laying in bed at noon. I need a pedicure, for god's sakes! :-) And some mushy food for the plane. And laundry. And innersoles. And, oh yeah, to pack!

My sainted husband ran out to super supplements last night at 8:30 for some hippy natural pills that a friend recommended ... the directions call for taking six capsules every 3-4 hours. If I choke on them say nice things about me, would you?

don't talk to me about pedicures. I need one SO bad I have no nail polish on about an inch at the base! It's hot in Texas and I can't wear sandals until I get one so I'm wearing covered shoes. Ugh.

hey, but at the end of two weeks? PARIS!! It will so be worth the rush right now.

call and see if you are in time to get the post-flu symptom thingy (I sooo forget what it is called). If it is a virus that might help. If it is a cold, fluids and Vitamin C and rest. Hippy pills probably aren't going to help much.

I take airborne. Honestly the best stuff ever! I rarely get sick, but at the first sign of anything I start popping the chewables like a crack addict...lol

Not only does it make me feel better right away, but it gets rid of any cold fast! Good luck! Have a great time in Paris!

Ooo, Airborne, yes! Thanks for the reminder.

Tomorrow I drop the dog at the sitter's, have my 6-week checkin at the surgeon's, get a haircut ... Dude I do not have time to be sick! :-) Yet so far all I've managed today is a load of laundry. The multi-item to-do list is looking daunting.

Wonder if they have Starkist tuna and cheap pedis in Paris ...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
