I'm a 48 year old single mom of two girls, 16yrs and 12yrs. The hospital stay was a but of a vacation lol. I decided I was going to turn 50yrs at 150lbs not 250lbs. So here I go.

  • Okay! Feeling much better today! I went ahead and scheduled an appt with my doc and went with all my issues! He fixed them ALL! Told me to cut my antidepressant in half and take it!! Woohoo! Ju

man!!! your lucky i feel like a huge loser ... i was sleeved on 8/14 i went in @ 218 and im still in the 200's @ 203 uuuugh i was dehydrated suffer from the worst heartburn i struggle with Protein finally got a full 12ox shake made with 1 1/2 c of skim milk down over 2.5-3 hours then had the worst gas tummy pain i though i was in labor ... so i attempted another shake this am and with in 20 min the same tummy pain so now am i lactose intolerant..... who the hell knows so basically in eating about 200 cal a day and no weight loss .... Uggh

I am a 27th-er too. I am doing fantastic. Once I realized that I was having some lactose intolerance and switched to soy I feel like a whole new woman. I am doing great on water, took in 70oz today. I can easily get 8oz an hour of water. Protein is another story. I am full liquids and do well with a 1/4 C of puréed thinned soups (to a full consistency) and I use a toddler spoon and other soy products. I haven't paid much attention to protein numbers because my focus has been water. Tomorrow marks my 1st week and I am focusing on protein and getting those numbers up. I have my first appt next Monday and I want good marks all around.

Had mine the 20 th no major complaints from the surgery part except for some gas .. Got home had a major gout attack in my left knee that was worser than surgery for a 6 days .. Sw 345 post op appointment 318 :-)

Count me in...had my surgery august 22

Starting weight: 363. Goal: 250. Current: 337

My surgery was 8/29. Getting ready to live my new life!!!

I had surgery 8/29, mostly good so far. I seem to be sore at night, so it interferes with my sleep, but my energy is still high. It feels like things are shifting in my insides lol...

I was sleeved on 8-19. I am 3 weeks out and down 17 pounds. I miss taking a big drink of water!!! Sip sip sip. I get chest/shoulder pains when i drink just a little too much. I am so confused with all the different recommendations by doctors. Everyone seems to be able to do things at different times. I am scared to screw things up!

My main issue is taking pills. I miss this more than food. I just want to be able to take my anti-depressants without crushing. I am not able to crush the ones I take so I had to get a different type and crushing those are horrible so i have not been on my meds for 3 weeks. I also want to be able to take the Prilosec without opening and putting in pudding. I want to gag when I do this.

I can't get the chewable Multivitamin down at all so have not taken it at all. My Protein intake is okay. I use the vanilla shake as creamer and also add it to my low cal hot chocolate. I seem to like it either hot or over ice.

My major incision site is still sore. I think if I drank more it might feel better??? Went through this whole thing with no pain meds. I am allergic to most so Tylenol was it for me.

So glad to find this forum. I love seeing how everyone else is doing and what has/has not worked for others.

Thanks for listening!

Jenn

Hello Everyone,

I was sleeved on the 26th. My highest weight was 289. My weight before my pre-op diet was 266. The day of my surgery I was 251. After having surgery I was up to 259. I am now 1 week out and as of this morning I am down to 247. Hooray for me.

I am also having difficulty getting in more than 40 grams of Protein. My fluids are around 40 to 60 oz..

Some of my incision sights are still sore. I haven't experienced much bruising except on my arms.

My energy is real low but it is getting better. I have been off all pain meds since 4 days post-op.

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!

Hi jenn. I was having a hard time crushing my pills and taking so I just cut my pills in half and take them with sips of Water. Much better. Crushing pills is nasty. My incisions are sore too I was done in the 26th. Each day is s little better. I find the more active I am the worse the soreness is but this too shall pass
