Long "Spaghetti noodles"!

Spaghetti squash is great and all, but still nothing you can twirl a fork around, around, and around. I found a tool on Pintrest that I can make a long noodle out of- using zucchini, carrots, or whatever else you want! They really do make long noodles and I sautéed them with a little bit of olive oil and some garlic powder. Added one box of "just sauce" turkey bolognese from Trader Joe's and dinner is done!

I must get that tool! I make zucchini ribbons but I want noodles, Thanks for sharing!

That looks really cool, but my first thought was, "Really? A pencil sharpener for carrots?" :-P

That looks like an amazing tool.. Currently I only have the julienne slicer to make small little strips... But long ones.. That's just great!! Hope our amazon UK has one of those!!

In my first post, I provided a link to the one we got. If they don't have the pencil sharpener one, perhaps they'll have my one. It's pretty sturdy. Enjoy!

Yipppeeee!!! It's on amazon UK too :)

I ordered the pencil sharpener one and it arrived today! Can't wait for purée stage to be over!!!

Thanks I just ordered one too! Can I ask what the shavings are on top of your dinner in the picture? They look too translucent to be Parmesan. Thanks!

You're right, it is Parmesan! I use fresh Parmesan and grate it right from the block. I used a ribbon Microplane grater which is why it's so thin. There's nothing like fresh Parmesan!

I to bought one of these guys and I tried to make zucinni noodles. They were not what I expected but I did it right over the pan into the fire. Did you allow the noodles to dry a bit before you used them? I think that would help. I also thought about putting them into a very low temp oven and allow them to dry for awhile before cooking with them. Mine just came out so wimpy nad wet. I would like to make them better and I hope you can help. If you would, would you email me at mthomas62@cox.net and give me some help please. I really do miss pasta.

Penman, how did you cook them? We sauté ours very lightly for less than 8-10 minutes in a little butter or peanut oil, on high heat, like stir frying in a wok. Keep tasting them and take them off until the steam has rolled off of them and it tastes "not soggy". If you like cucumber, do it with that, with no need to cook them.
