I buy tilapia and salmon at costco, package and freeze them in single serving size. My favorite for salmon is a ginger wasabi sauce I bought at a gourmet grocery. It's from Robert Rothschild Farm. One teaspoon is only 10 calories, and it's amazing. I'm sure if it's not available locally, you can find it on-line. For tilapia, I just sprinkle some Cajun seasoning on it and grill it on George Foreman, same goes for shrimp. I put them on a skewer and sprinkle Cajun seasoning on them. I'm just 2 and a 1/2 weeks post op, so I'm still on liquids, but I'm looking forward to having fish and seafood. They're going to be my Protein staples I'm sure.

I love fish, especially wild salmon and Ono. Wild salmon here in Washington. Ono when I travel to kauii every couple years. Ono is a very tasty fish, but hard to find in WA except at Asian market grocery stores.

I usually cook tilapia fish. I buy them frozen and I buy the smaller fillets. Walmart carries them (each fillet about 3-4 oz) I use a non-stick skillet and add just a little I can't believe it's no butter 1/2 tablespoon, season with a little salt, or sometimes no salt because the butter has salt. Cook the fish for about 3 minutes each side. That's all. Quick and simple

I also just cook frozen (thawed) tilapia in a non stick skillet on each side with whatever seasoning I'm in the mood for. I just cook until it's flaky. I'll use the parkay butter spray or just butter or olive oil cooking spray. I also will bake it with a mixture on top of fat free Greek yogurt, couple tablespoons of freshly grated parm cheese and dill and/or other seasonings. Bake until flakey also. I eat/crave considerably more fish post sleeve.

I keep my fish pretty basic. So that I do not spoil expensive fresh fish, I buy frozen bags of salmon and tilapia at the grocery store. I buy the highest quality of olive oil I can get too (why not, I'm saving so much $ on food anyways might as well get good s**t)

How I cook my fish:

Pan fried

Olive Oil

Real Butter

Mrs. Dash - Lemon Pepper or Garlic Blend

Salt

Pepper

Cooks in about 10 min or less

Tip: Thaw the frozen fish by running it under warm/hot Water for 2min before cooking in the pan, cooks and thaws much faster.

easy, simple, delicious

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
