What does the "sweet spot" feel like?

Recommended Posts

For me, I don't get hungry for about 4 hours after eating. I eat about 2/3 of a cup of food, and if I eat more, I feel way too full for a couple of hours.

My soft stop is a hic-up. That tells me to stop, and wait to take another bite. That's not necessarily when I am finished eating, but I might be eating too fast. When food gets stuck, it right at the top of the ribs, and it's very painful, just like you swallowed a golf ball. The golf ball feeling is a very good way to describe it. I can tell if it's going to go down or if it's going to come up. For the most part, if I just wait, it goes down. Sometimes I raise both my arms up in the air, and it goes down. Also, when it's stuck, it feels like it's in the esophagus, not the stomach, so the pain can be in the chest.

A soft stop is when you get a signal from your body to stop. For some people, it's a runny nose. For a lot of people, it's a hick-up

It might be listed in the Frequently asked questions sections. I am a moderator too, so I can ask the other mods where a soft stop is described.

I have had a fill 2 weeks ago and suddenly the last two days I am starving every two hours. I have been writing down what this is. I also can now again eat a cup of oatmel which is not good. I actually gained a couple of pounds whilke I am eating about 1,ooo calories and workout daily to between 400 and 500 calories....why no weight loss? do I need another fill already? I have lost about 30 lbs since Feb 11 surgery

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
