Yeah' date=' I did Friday night. eggs topped with lf cheese. Couldn't help it. Was so dragging. But I'm not going to beat myself over it. Back on track and focused. I'm not a big eater, my problem is I don't eat normally and when I do its usually dinner, I don't like to eat by myself, I don't want people to look at me and judge me, so I usually eat with my family in my home. Which is bad, I know because it forces my body to store everything as fat. I still have a week and have committed to finish it out.[/quote']

hw much have u lost

Did you have to swallow barium for your preop tests? If so, it is the same thing. They give you contrast---yuck-- and make you swallow it to make sure the sleeve is working and not leaking. My first test failed because my sleeve was too swollen to let anything through. Yesterday it went great!

Congrats to you and thanks for the explanation

WOO HOO!!! 1 week from tomorrow for me!! I am down 10 pounds so far from my shakes. How are all my August 19th surgery mates doing on their pre op diets so far?

I'm down 10 pounds as well LSU and the 19th can't get here soon enough. In our pre op we have the choice of Protein Bars or shakes. Thanks to you guys, my newfound discovery of Quest bars and adding crystal light to vanilla Protein Shake powder to "customize" them has made it more interesting.

Side note: as an Ole Miss law alum, this may be the most cordial conversation I've ever had with a LSU fan lol

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!
