Last Fill?

Recommended Posts

I was under the impression that band fills evaporated over time but my doctors office says I only have one fill left until I am max filled then I can't get anymore fills. I had my band put in July and have totally stopped losing weight since the last month. I wonder if maybe the holidays have something to do with it but I dunno. Anyone else not lose for over a month? And if I am so full then how come I am not losing anything, I have not been that bad over the holidays and have not lost anynthing since my last fill.

At my last fill, the lady told me that it does not evaporate in everyone, and that if you don't have a leak it will not go away. I have also read on the board that you can go a little over what the band size is to allow for what is in the tube.

I also was retold the band rules. I don't know if you eat mushies often, but they are a no no with the band. Solid foods only. No Soup, mashed anything, etc...

I told the lady that I wanted to start Atkins again, and she recommended the South Beach approach to go along with the band. (I am going to stick with Atkins, it works for me.) And she also mentioned that devil word (exercise).

Now, I in no way claim to be an expert. I am just passing on the information that I have read/heard about.

Good Luck!

Thx for the reply. I wasnt sure if evaporation was an issue or not. I been exersizing I suppose I could do more but I dont want to burn myself out. I could be on a platue too. Also I do eat mushie foods maybe thats the problem. I am going to start trying to eat more solid foods and skip the mushie stuff. Thx alot.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
