  • I JUST posted about an hour ago about how excited I was and then just a few minutes ago a HUGE wave of anxiety came over me. I know this is the right decision, but it is MAJOR surgery too. I imagine

  • I don't even have a date yet, and I'm anxious! LOL The gal that did my pysch eval said she'd be concerned if patients didn't have concerns before having the procedure. Good luck!

I was told the same thing at my pysch consult. I should be getting approved and a date very soon and I can tell each day I am getting more anxious. Anxiety mixed with excitment!

I think its totally normal I was thinking the same thing I didn't want to be sick and or in pain. I have to say I didn't have any of that' date=' no nausea, vomiting or pain a little discomfort but that's it. My Dr prescribed me a pill for nausea I had to take 2 hours prior to surgery he said it is prescribed for cancer patients for nausea. It helped.[/quote']

My doctor said the same thing. He gives the pill before surgery, and the IV version after, but it's the med they prescribe for cancer patients. So it really worked?

First off, thank you all so very much for replying to my post, I cannot tell you how much it helps! I sit here all 240lbs of me being uncomfortable in my own skin but yet the fear of the unknown is what is eating at me. I don't know what to expect except what I have been told and or read on here. I just don't want to spend the rest of my life throwing up or being nauseous ...I have been trying to program myself to eat smaller portions now, chew chew chew and replace my normal bacon, egg and cheese with a protein shake, its been tough, I wont lie but its what I need to do to start living my life..because up until this point, its been crummy! I will be thinking of all you guys on the 25th , thank you again for the support! best of luck to all of you xo

Hang in there. Have faith, put it in God's hands and let him take care of it. Works for me!

I'm feeling anxiety as I type this. I got a call today from my Coordinator. My date has been changed from July 8 to July 1

I'm glad I'm not the only one with anxiety ! ???????? I'm in healthcare and normally I'm clear headed and calm on day 3 pre-op shakes going well but when I think about the days getting closer to the 24 my nerves and anxiety start to wreck Havoc ! I'm so lost and confused and its not a good feeling for me which stinks I'm glad we are all here to support each other on this journey and are supporting each other through it all!!

Hi Melanie757are you from VA? My date is July1, 2013 as well good luck to you!

Emily everyone around me ask me if i am scare about my surgery. I tell them that i am not at all. Let me tell u why: because i am thinking about all the great things that will come because of the surgery so think about that, it will give u strength. Good luck on ur surgery .

My pre-op was scheduled for tomorrow and sleeve Tues June 18. I had such a freak out today that postponed it.

I feel like such a fool.

What you're feeling is normal. We have the same surgery date. I did my pre op Monday. I'm nervous also not about the surgery itself but about my new life after the surgery.

I had a brief moment of breakdown while washing dishes and thinking about my Advance Directive (I think that's what it's called). I was thinking about having to explain to my brother my wishes if the worst were to happen and I just broke down in tears....

you guys are awesome! I was feeling so overwhelmed and anxious but this helps a lot, knowing Im not the only one takes so much pressure off me. Its fear of the unknown, it was driving me nuts! I wish you all the best of luck! I hope we all have great success! :)

You will do just fine....we are 1 day away from a life change. Im being sleeved the same day

My stomach has been in a knot all day since yesterday. Its not my first time having major surgery but I always get nervous before. Think how great you are gonna feel when you step on the scale and see the pounds dropping. :-)

Best of luck and God bless you and all of us in this journey
