Why do you need to wait till your at goal to eat oatmeal

It's not allowed on my plan until goal. My doctors plan is very restrictive. Every doctor is different.

I can add oatmeal on my 2 weeks out list.

I used a oatmeal/protein supplement on my pre-surgery diet and still use it as it has 15g of Protein and tastes great!

What is the name of the oatmeal supplement you use?

Health Wise Oatmeal. Actually 14 g of Protein not 15. Just looking at box. I buy it in the hospital pharmacy.

I tried the Healthwise oatmeal and couldn't stand it. It went in the garbage, and the few times that I ate oatmeal or cream of wheat after that, I just used regular and added Protein Powder to it. I know everyone has different tastes though! I just felt a bit annoyed because it was kind of expensive (plus shipping etc.).

I didn't buy it yet. Was pricey. Think I will stick to my Quaker once I get the courage up to start it.

I don't know of anyone else that does this......but I'll eat the Quaker non-instant whole oats raw (uncooked and without liquid). There's not a lot of taste (quite bland) and they are a little dry, but I actually like them this way. I just chew on them slowly as a snack and about half a teaspoon at a time. I have a chewing/oral fixation at times and this really satisfies it without the sugar of instant and without the liquid with my food. I know it's weird and is dry, but I use it more for something to chew on and it's a healthy, slow digesting carb for my post workout snack.

I like oatmeal. We were allowed whole grains in the losing phase in my program, but I didn't eat oatmeal till after I was at goal because it didn't sit well for the first year.

I like it now. I use Quaker Old Fashioned and cook it in the microwave. I use 1/4 cup oatmeal, about 2/3 cup Water, and I often add berries or a little fruit before cooking. Couple chopped strawberries or a small chopped apricot are a couple of favs. I sweeten with Splenda and add a dash of salt. I do like mine with a little soymilk too, but it's good without since that is not on your program.

Were you able to purchase this directly from HealthWise? I tried but they do not sell to consumers, only to health care professionals. I tried the Tomato Soup at a meeting and it was actually super good. So was the Lemon Razzy fruit drink.

Really?? Two pages about oatmeal. I don't think the manufactures of oatmeal put this much thought into it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
