Anyone else sleeved Monday may 20

Recommended Posts

Did your Dr. give you anything like Zantac to take? My Dr. has me on it for 2 mos. then 1 mo. of Prilosec to make sure things heal up well. I was a revision too.

Thank you! I was just talking to my Hubby about that. At my one week check up I was fine so he didn't put me on anything. I am going to call him in the AM to see if that would be something that would help. I am crossing my fingers that is what the problem is. It driving me crazy I am sure it is louder to me than anyone else but I feel like my throat is always making noise now. For the first time after surgery I ended up getting sick and I did not like that! Not to give to much TMI it was very acidy tasting so I think your thought is right on the money.

Glad to help. I've always had a touchy stomach so I knew I'd need something. Glad my Dr. was thinking ahead. Good luck.

I was put on nexium for 6 months and warned not to miss one dose. I am still on full liquids but see the nut tomorrow and hopefully can move to the next stage. The last few days I have been feeling the liquid go down which is strange as this had gone away. Smaller sips. I am ready to be off the liquids as I am not meeting my goal with the protiens or Water. Still a little sore in one place, went back to work full time Monday. smoothie king has a smoothie that was on my "approved" list. Been going there daily .this is my 5th week of liquids, pre-op and post op. down around 15 lbs,

FYI, sometimes after this surgery you become lactose intolerant. I cant mix my shakes with milk or I get sick.

I've been in the hospital now 3 days. My sleeve was so tight that my liquids gets stuck and takes forever to go down. They have me back on the liquid stage and currently only having ice chips. My pancreas and esophagus are swollen. ):

I was sleeved on the 21st and I may have broke. A few rules but I could t stomach the purée stage more than 5 days or so and moves onto soft foods. To be honest I seem to be able to eat anything I want but only small portions for meals. Snacking is a definite worry as I seem to be able to snack on anything s I'm tracking my calories on MFP and am averaging around 650/700 per day.

I don't know if that's too much at this stage but I've lost 22lbs so far.

I'm not sure. They said that where my esophagus meets my sleeve its very tight so I've been on ice chips for 4 days now. ): even Water is hard on me.

Christy, so sorry you're having issues! I hope they get better very soon! :(

I'm doing pretty good at almost 3 weeks out. I've lost 28lbs! Wahoo! My surgeon keeps his patients on full liquids until 22 days post op. I had what I thought was reflux/heart burn but when I asked him about it yesterday he said it's common to have that pain there and is from the nerve endings healing that were cut off. However, I still think it's a bit of reflux because it was waaaay worse after I blended up some spicy tortilla Soup and ate it. lol So I've cut out all the spicy yummy soup that I normally love and it seems to have gotten better. He told me to wait another week to advance to purees/soft which I'm NOT happy about. I loved my Premier Protein shakes from costco but now I can't stand the Protein after taste. It makes me nauseous. I also tried out the Unjury unflavored protein and I taste the overwhelming protein grossness no matter what I put it in which makes me want to vomit. I just can't wait to eat meat!!!! I've been averaging around 400calories a day. I havn't gone over 500. I'm lucky to get in 2 Protein Shakes and then soup with the unjury added in. And lots of Water. I'm doing great with keeping protein above 70 and fluids above 64. I'm still VERY sleepy by the afternoon though and have no energy but that'll get better when I start eating real food I hope. Oh, and i'm physically never hungry. I It's all in my head and I could eat 5 cows. lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
