My fitness pal question

Recommended Posts

Is there anyway to set the daily goals specific to me? The goals that are automatically in place are way far off my actual targets.

I had to put in 1200 calories to up my Protein. I don't eat that many calories so it always tells me I'm starving myself but I ignore that.

Lol- yup, MFP always said I was near death with my low calories, low carb and low fat diet so stopped using MFP after that. Besides I am not really a tracker. I like to keep post op things ultra simple as life is complicated as is. Stopped tracking after month 1 and never looked back. All turned out fine in the end.

There is a way. You can customize the Protein and calories and fat and carbs and everything else. It needs to be done through their website. When you go to myfitnesspal.com, log in and go to their settings. I don't remember how to do it exactly from there but it's in their FAQ page. That's how I did it

Yes - do it through settings and customize. I can't remember how to do it either but I always just look at the FAQ section - and to be honest I generally have to use google to find it on the MFP website!! I tracked religiously until Christmas and then stopped for several months. I just started back tracking since I am trying to lose my last 10 pounds. I love MFP because it makes me aware of just how much I really am eating. Good luck!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
