Did all the biggest losers get tummy tucks???

After watching the finale of the biggest loser, I was really inspired, but I was also a bit confused. Most of the contestants had lost tons of weight, many over one hundred pounds. On top of that, it happened over an 8 month period. However, did anyone else notice that no one seemed to have hanging skin, or that apron pudge in their spandex shorts? Especially the men who had such bellies before?

Now don't get me wrong, if none of them had TT than thats great news for all of us, because we could look as great without PSurg as they do.

But either they all had TT, which seems unlikley and like a bit of a scam on viewers. OR They don't have much hanging skin, which also seems unlikely and I'd love to know their secret!!

What do you guys think?

Oh, I think they DO look like they have a ton of excess skin! The women still have wobbly arms and you can see that their stomach's arent flat. They're wearing pretty constricting spandex in those weighins. The men look great, but they dont end up looking like Bob either. I can remember watching previous ones, I think it was Matt, the guy who won and he took his shirt off and had a very doughy belly.

Hi Laphappy, I too marveled how these big loosers were able to loose their aprons. Sometimes there are those who through genetics are blessed with rebound skin. I had two children with out a stretch mark and my sister has never had children has a large amount of stretch marks. I think age helps for the skin to respond, but over all most of us will have bat wings for arms, gobblers under our chin, and bellies that will be long and floppy. But out of all this, we will have mobility, live a longer and healthier life. I want to be able to do what healthy wt people do and not be ashamed that I cannot control my eating. That is what will keep me from focusing on my body and how it AIN'T going to be. I just want to love the real me under all that phat and flesh. But, you are right, how did they manage to loose wt fast and not had skin issues. w8t4me: Banded 12-11-07 in Fargo MN. With Dr. Munson. He is awesome.

well ..... I understand that some doc's opinion was that it was extremely dangerous to lose so much wight at once!!!

Anyway, I was a size 20, now a 12 and I do have an "apron" and my arms are firm only because I excercise. I'm planning to get plastic surg, when I finish losing all the weight. Meanwhile I'm wearing a great griddle that makes me look the way I will like to really be ....LOL

What kind of girdle do you wear? I think I will get one.

Thanks!

Kat.

I retract my statement now that the last episode has been shown in Australia, lol. Wow, those 4 looked amazing right at the end. When they left the ranch they looked to me like they were hiding a bit of loose skin, but boy, their arms are all flawless in the finale! It must be all the weights and toning.

I cannot figure how you could lose so much so fast and not have a ton of loose skin to contend with.

Don't you think it would be such an aweful fraud if the show paid for them to have plastic surgery. Great for the contestants, but horrible to give unrealistic expectations to the rest of the world. Just sets people up for failure.

The exercise certainly didn't hurt them any though!!! I can see that helping with the arms a lot, the belly, well - I have to assume that no amount of crunches holds up the old apron. :P

By the way, I was reading on the website that some think the blond girl (amy?) had an affair with the blonde teacher guy from missouri (the one that likes to kiss his biceps). This is apparently why the flashback about his life after the ranch showed him with his students and not with his WIFE!!!! The biggest loser board for amy, or whatever her name is, was all a buzzing about it. Funny that they kept bashing her, but over on the offending man's message board, no one seemed to say too much. Double standards are so awesome!!! :tired

I've got to say it did cross my mind that they'd had plastic surgery in the intervening months. It just seems impossible doesnt it? Eric was sooooo big, although he does show a bit of loose skin under his chin..

They've had one Australian season and Adro, the guy that won is having PS now, but he's up front about it.

Although look at this pic of him

http://www.realitytvworld.com/realitytvdb/erik-chopin/person-906

You can see he DOES have some loose skin. Look at his arms, and you can see he's got a bit of an apron under that shirt - perhaps it was just all clever TV lighting and make up. Physiologically it just seems impossible.

Not to take away one BIT from what they've achieved, its phenomenal.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
