Hello everyone! After having the LapBand installed in January 2010, losing over 100 pounds, then gaining all but 30 of it back when the band severely slipped (solid food intolerance meant that high-calorie frappuccinos were my best friend!)...I'm more than stoked to have had the band removed in March and my sleeve surgery scheduled for June 7th! Can't "weight" to see the success that you all have been seeing! I've got my cupboard stocked with Protein, Vitamins, sippy cups, blender shaker bottles, etc. - let's go! :D

P.S. I'm 32 years old!

I am also a revision from Lap-Band. I had my Lap-Band put in January 2011 and it was taken out at the end of November 2012 because it had slipped. I too could not get any solids down. I lost 75 lbs after surgery and regained 60 lbs within a 6 month period (bread is the devil!). I am now on my pre-op diet and will be having surgery on June 6th. I am so excited for this new start in my weight loss journey!

Just curious, did you have a blog when you were banded?

Haha! Maybe you should change it to singingsleever! I don't know about you but I am feeling great and so glad I got this done. I am babying my sleeve right now but after 6 weeks we should be clear from any leaks. With the band, there was always fear that it would slip or wear a hole in the stomach. And, I am so glad this is permanent!!! I got the band because if anything went wrong, it could be taken out. Well, I am so glad it was taken out.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
