I'm lower BMI and having the sleeve for my Pollysistic Ovarian Disease and Insulin Resistance. Is anyone else like me? If so, did it help with your disease?

I had an endometrial ablation done in 2006 and haven't had a period since.. I didn't even bleed after surgery, but now after reading some forums I am a little scared I will start after my sleeve next month.. I can't go back to having a period I was so miserable!

I definitely feel for all of you! I have PCOS as well and I'm hoping that having this surgery will help! My surgery is scheduled for June 7th!

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16. I haven't had a period since Feb 2012. I was sleeved on 5/8/13.. And I'm hoping this helps. Would love to have babies one day and put it behind me. I will keep you updated if I start noticing a difference

Hi ladies. I'm still pre op, but I have PCOS. I feel for those of you who are having fertility issues. I have 3 kids, but I had a very hard time getting pregnant with my second one. It is depressing when you can't get pregnant. I've been there and actually was losing weight when I became pregnant with my second and third babies. I also have a very large belly. I hate hate hate it! I have the facial hair too and it is embarrassing!! I think I am done having kids, but I'm Hopi g the surgery will alleviate some of the other symptoms.

You all give me hope. I too have pros since I was 20 now 26 I was lucky enough to have one child at 17. She was my blessing in disguise. I want more children I am hoping this surgery opens that door for me in the future. I'm only 26 I have plenty of time for. I need to get healthy first

I also have PCOS...facial hair (LOVE laser hair removal!), big belly, acne, irregular periods (the pill helps with that)....

Whenever I've been thinner, my symptoms DEFINITELY improve. And being on the birth control pill gives me a predictable period and also helps control the facial hair and acne.

For SURE you're going to see improvement with your PCOS after surgery. Exciting!

Hi , I also have PCOS . I was diagnosed at 14 years of age and have been battling it ever since , I'm now 35 . I was lucky to fall pregnant and have two beautiful kids but it wasn't easy ,i also have the horrible hair grow that comes along with this disorder . I'm getting sleeved on the 6 th of June and I'm on pre op at the moment . I'm hoping that the sleeve tries to help my insulin resistance as I am pre diabetic. Can anyone tell me if the sleeve has help and was it easy to lose the weight. I've been told by my surgeon that if your insulin resistant that the weight is slower to come off .

My surgery was 4/16 and I've lost 60 pounds so far. I haven't weighed myself in a week though. Just follow the instructions your doc and nut give you and you'll be just fine. I'm actually a diabetic and haven't had to take insulin since my surgery. My weight loss has been pretty stable.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was almost 21. Now I am almost 22 and I have been on meds to control it and my doctor said its working. I'll be having surgery on June 28 and I'm hoping that with the weight loss my fiancé and I will be able to have children... About 8 months after our April 2014 wedding.

Wow mandyrenee82 that is awesome to hear. I'm in Australia , so I think that works out to just under 30kgs . Being insulin resistant I have this crazy thought in my head that the surgery won't work . Thanks gives me hope .

Also for the facial hair, I had better luck with electrolysis than laser and its cheaper. Laser can burn your face. Waxing or plucking makes the hair grow back thicker. This means that if you accidentally pull out peach fuzz it will come back as a true hair. If you can't or won't do electrolysis the best thing to do is shave. There is a great forum for hair problems called Hairtell. You can google it.
