I'm lower BMI and having the sleeve for my Pollysistic Ovarian Disease and Insulin Resistance. Is anyone else like me? If so, did it help with your disease?

I have PCOS. It's the worst. My husband and I want a baby so bad. We are hoping this weight loss helps. I hadn't had a period for over a year. The day after surgery, I got it. My hormones are changing. One minute I'm happy and the next cry at the drop of a hat. I guess when your body is out of whack it takes a lot to get it back to normal. Losing my hair and excess body hair is the worst thing about pcos thAt people notice anyway. Hoping this sleeve will alleviate some of the symptoms. I was sleeved4/16

I was diagnosed at 16. I'm now 28. I went 3 years with no period, I have thick dark hair on my face and neck and chin that waxing does not pull out. I have make patterned baldness so my hair is very thin on top, and a very large stomach. I am 3 moths post op and down 40 lbs. it's a slow loss but either way I'm losing. The hair issue is not resolving on my face, and more is falling out on my head. The weight comes off everywhere but my tummy (but eventually it will!). However, my period is back, a perfect cycle to the 28th day. Overall, PCOS is a tough one, but if you are TTC, your fertility will be back in no time! My husband loves me the way I am and the weight IS coming down. Overall, I feel so much better and symptoms will lessen over time. Good luck!

I was 18 when I was diagnosed. It's a pain in the rear. And no one else understands unless they have it, too.

Hey there.. Just curious if you have seen any changes in your PCOS? I too have it and I am curious if it will get better after the surgery?

Haven't noticed anything yet. I'm just now a month out. I did, however, start my period the day after surgery and I hadn't had one for over a year. My hormones are kinda whacky. One minute I'm happy the next I'm crying for no reason. Surgeon said the more weight I lose the more estrogen is going to be released. So it may be a wild ride for us with our changing hormones.

I also have PCOS. I'm being sleeved on 3rd June. I'm hoping with the weight loss I'll be able to fall pregnant! We'll all have to let each other know how we go with it all

I have PCOS and I'm hoping this surgery is going to be the answers to my prayers. I like many of you have had all the annoying hair issues and fertility issues that PCOS comes with. I'm hoping they will go away after surgery. It is such a pain and so embarrassing for me when i used to miss my periods when i was younger it never bothered me but now I'm 25 and I'm scared about my fertility I can't wait to get this issue resolved!

I can't tell you how much it means to know I am not completely alone in all of this. I don't know any of you but I love you all already. I hope all of your surgeries go exceptionally well.

Natalie, it's great just to talk about this with people who are going through the same. We can all help each other

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
