I think gas-x has a placebo effect on people. The gas in your body is not in the intestinal track so it really does nothing for you. Only time and walking make it better.

I had my surgery last wednesday so I guess im 8 days out or so but I am having the WORST pain in my shoulder from the gas still and ive tried everything.... idk but booooo gas pains is all I have to say! I got up and walked circles around the house for almost half an hr to no avail. Took some liquid hydrocodone... used salon pas. Nope... pains still here darn it!!!

Try a warm heating pad on the shoulder and continue walking. It should help it subside. Hope you feel better soon! I was just sleeved on 6/18

Hi.

I'm Anne and my surgery was June 13th. I've lost 31 pounds since my 2-week pre op diet.

I'm sleeved and home. It was a little rough the first day. I'm getting better everyday. In not sure how to get my Protein in. I'm drinking about 4 oz and hour.

Hey,

I'm 8-days out. I had real problems with the shakes after the 2-week prep. An RN friend of mine is 3-years out and told me to get Isopure Zero Carb ready to drink clear. It has 40-grams of Protein and comes in flavors similar to Gatorade. It's not as sickly sweet as the shakes and you can sip it continuously.

I promise you; it gets better every day. The twinge of every drink fades pretty quickly and the feeling of needing to berp passes with just a few days.

I feel better about everything as soon as I get off the scale!

Take care,

Anne

Tomorrow is the day for me!! Had some WTH am I doing thoughts last weekend but I sorted everything out and I'm ready to go!! Wish me luck;). Best wishes to all the others on the 19th!!!

I totally went through the WTH am I doing. This is permanent. OMG!

I think it's an important part of the process. This surgery amputates most of our stomach, so we have to be fully resolved to do it; they can't put it back.

For me, it has been a deeply personal and spiritual process. I have come to terms with the fact that I have not been successful losing weight on my own, and I'm just getting older ... and bigger.

I'm also in wheelchair from a car accident and have worried that the larger I am, the more difficult it will be to for my care providers should my condition worsen.

I am certain that this is the solution and I am resolved to do everything I'm told to do. For once!

We are so fortunate to have this tool available to us!

Be the brave girl you are!

I'm 3 days post op-- 19th-- first night was horrible! In will not lie.. I was up every hour on the hour with dry heaves and vomiting... Then I slept most all day... Don't remember much.. Then last night I woke with bright red, swollen, hot arms.. Chest and back.. Yup allergic reaction to one of my meds.. Not sure what one or if it was due to the Anastasia. Was seen my a house doc she gave me high dosage of Benadryl...my sleeve took longer than expected bc I had lots of scar tissue, it took him 2 hours to get through it all.. I ended up with a drain..( that was gross when they removed it)

All seems to be better now.. Then today (fri) I felt like a million dollars... Got to come home!

I'm home... Doing great!! Welcome to all those on this side of the sleeve and to those of you who are next in line... Take my advise: go slow... Listen to your docs and nurses, walk walk walk... And remember the hardest days are the fist few...

Busybeingsleeved!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
