  • Popular Post

Hello all! I've been reading the forum for the past couple of months, thank you all for the great advice and sharing your experiences. It's been very helpful and informative! I met with the surgeon a week ago today, my surgery date is June 26. Anyone else for June?

Are you having any troubles getting fluids down? I get a weird feeling every time i take a sip

I get that same weird feeling. My doctor said it was just spasms. So he told me to take the liquid Loratab twice a day to help get the fluids down

5 hours to go!!

5 hours to go!!

Good Luck! You will do GREAT!

Good luck to you! Are you required to do this pre op liquid diet? If so how has it gone for you?

Yes, I started officially on Wed, but actually started replacing one meal per day a week ago Wed and have now lost 7 pounds since then! I am lucky with my pre op diet though, I have 2 Protein Shakes per day...breakfast and lunch, then a healthy meal for dinner....meaning 4-6 oz lean meat and a veggie or fruit.I fill the gaps and growls with Water and crystal light. Tonight I had a sugar free fat free popsicle after dinner though....so far so good.

@shewin....so u freeze it and like a popsicle?... Thats a gr8 idea....thx....my date will be tues the 18th...this is most helpful....:-)

Yep freeze like like a popsickle! Glad u like my idea! My favorite flavors ened up being the ones I thought I'd hate! Coconut & grape frost. Go figure. They have tons of flavors so u might buy one in each flavor to see what u like. Good luck and let us know what ones you like. Ohhh yeah , yesterday I mixed 1/2 blue raspberry & 1/2 leomade crystal ight & now that's awesome! Turned lime green & tasted sooo refreshing!!!

Yay! I'm on the 24th too if I can get my blood pressure under control.

There alot of us on the 24th good luck to all! Very nervous and excited!

i really need support. i am terrified. Im getting my sleeve done on the 27th in mexico by Dr. Aceves in Mexicali

July 5th.....I am having it done due to gastroperisis. I am scared! I have had some questions about what gastroperisis is. It is where your stomach Does not digest food anymore. It is a problem associated with diabetes. I also have a super pubic catheter because diabetes ruined my bladder. I also have a few other problems associated with diabetes. I also have Chron' s, FIBROMYALGIA, lupus. I've been sick for a few years and this operation will help with my quality of life.

i am the 18th. at times nervous and at times anxious. i mixed my protein powder in sugar free jello. it tastes alot better. excited about that discovery.

My date is June 24th! I'm ready' date=' but figuring the money part out. I guess it's really here & now I need 2200.00!! So excited and can't wait![/quote']

So I had my surgery and am home now. It was definitely different from what I expected! I had a lot of pain and am still very sore. But I think it will be worth it! Good luck on your day!

Looking for some advice here. I woke up yesterday with an insanely hurting wisdom tooth. Hurts to swallow, can't open my mouth very wide, tooth kind of swollen. Having my surgery in 4 days. I WILL have this surgery. I'm concerned about this tooth though. Will this affect anything? I haven't been taking anything for it and I do have a dental appointment in a few weeks. This is making me nervous. Why does this have to happen now? Ugh :(

This sets u up for an increased risk of infection. I would be upfront with the surgeon so u can weigh the increased risk.

July 5th.....I am having it done due to gastroperisis. I am scared!

Reading other posts here will help ease your mind. What is "gastroperisis"? Stay strong! ;)

Proud of u. Sending hugs & prayers.

Thank you so much. Little by little, each day gets a little easier. :-)

I was sleeved June 10th and I was feeling so good yesterday!! Today I decided to go into work for 3 hours. (I am a wound nurse) And let me tell you. I am now exhausted!! I think I am gonna take a nap and relax now. I really thought I would be ok with returning to work, but nope! I even had an aide come in so I did not have to push/pull/lift patients. I am waiting on my energy to come back!
