Am I on track?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am 6 weeks out and have lost 56 pounds(including 20 pre-op).

Is this the norm?

Thanks!

There really is no "norm" per say as everyone loses the weight differently. It also depends on how heavy you were to start with. someone who was 400lbs will drop weight faster at the beginning that someone who was 250lbs. As long as you are doing what you were told, i think you are just fine!

This has definitely been a worry of mine. I was 351 when I went in for my consultation then the day of the surgery I was 326 because my surgeon asked me to lose about 15-20 pounds before the surgery. My surgery was on December 5th and my last weighing was March 16th and I was 263 pounds. I just feel like with how everyone has described their weight loss that I should be losing more. I think the way we're thinking is gonna discourage our progress. Every person really does lose weight differently even with the help of the surgery. I know that my biggest issue is getting more activity in my daily life even with work and school. You're doing great so just keep looking at how much closer you're getting to your goal weight.

Rawan and Magpie, thanks so much! I have become a bit discouraged. I've been compliant, so it seems more should've come off. I guess I need to work on my thinking---as well as my weight loss. Again, thanks!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
