Tried yin today. Felt like a 90 minute Swedish massage. So nice. I went to this very nice facility in Woodinville, WA called Balance Yoga. Very professional and clean facility with many amenities. Do check it out if you live in the area (I am about 35 min North of there). Highly rated through my Corporate Passport Benefits as well. I think I will try Hatha next. I bought a 30 days for 30 dollars unlimited use. I will probably go 2x a week over the next month to explore all the different yoga types. Can really feel Yoga working my ABS now. They are sore, but I guess that is a good thing for when the shirt comes off this Summer. lol. Will be so much fun and oh so relaxing...

Im so happy for you Fiddleman! You went to check it out and actually stayed for a class. One of my favorite classes is a yin class also. Mine is called Dynamic Yin and I love it.

You will get better each time you go. The great thing about yoga is the journey. Seeing how you improve physically and mentally each time you go. Last night was my 6th class (last night was hot at 105 degrees) and I am definitely stronger than my first class. I also lack the upper body strength but I could tell it was getting better. I was able to hold my planks a lot longer than before.

Like you, the heat really doesnt bother me so much. The stinging of the eyes from the sweat dripping into them is a different story lol. Its the moves that challenge me for sure. I have little ouchies on my knees and elbows but I feel awesome!

Anyway, way to go. Keep it up!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
