This is very normal. I have been accused of slumping forward since I have taken off weight. I also noticed some mid and lower back pain as well. I visited my chiropractor and he suggested that this is to be expected as the spine and muscles which support our spine have esablished a prone position to support the extra weight. He suggested stretches and strength to improve posture.

I find I'm leaning back in pictures. It was to compensate my big belly I'm thinking.

I've had evil pain in my shoulder blades since the surgery. It's gotten worse since yesterday when I came back to work. At first I considered it the gas pains that I've been told are common, but now at work I can't get comfortable at all. I was thinking maybe I got too relaxed while recouping at home. I'm going to my chiropractor this evening for my first adjustment since surgery. I hope this fixes the issues, otherwise I may need to invest a better bra or something.

I had a lot of back pain my first 3 to 6 weeks. My Drs office said it is my body carrying everything differently as the weight goes away. I am allmost 9 weeks out and 55 lbs down and it has gotten better thank goodness.

I find it a challenge too, due to having a desk job and other factors. Your chiro brings up a good point. I have found that a lot of stretching and upper back exercises have helped me. Strengthening the traps, rear delts and lats have all improved my posture. Also, being mindful of it (posture) when sitting at a desk or table, etc and training yourself to have better posture. I used to catch myself slumping and pulling my shoulders forward. The upper back lifts and stretching have now pretty much eliminated my slumping posture. The exercises I use are 1) bent over rows, 2) pullups (use assisted if you can't do your body weight yet), 3) rear delt flies (see video) and for traps 5) I do either upright rows or behind the back barbell shrugs.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
