I was sleeved Jan 28 and started at 248 and now I am at 231 and I feel like such a slow loser, its getting to my head that maybe I will stay fat

I was sleeved 1/16/13 and the scale stopped moving -25lbs. I think that I'll be on the slow loser bench also. Thankful for the weight loss, following the program, but cant help but wonder what I'm doing wrong?

Yup, normal thought. I thought that too. But in less than a month you have lost 17lbs!!! THATS AWESOME. Ever done that before?? Probably not.

If you follow your plan from your doc, you will not stay fat. Set realistic expectations, 10lbs a month, or 2lbs a week - something like that. Don't be hard on yourself -- that negativity and self defeating attitude and feelings of undeserving unworthiness are what keeps the weight on and if you're like me, caused the weight to pile on!!

And, if you are a slow loser, so what, you are still a LOSER! Slow weight loss can help your skin, can keep nosy people from noticing rapid weight loss, help you cement and solidify good habits. There's a slow losers board. Read it, look at the tickers from people posting a year ago -- they all lost BIG amounts of weight. You'll get there too!

Have faith in the tool you chose and use it to the best of your ability. That's all you can do!

There's no such thing as being a slow loser. I used to think that but I've only seen maybe 2 people who I agreed with who are legit slow losers IMO. Heck I used to consider myself one but I see there are several Oct sleevers who have lost the same amount as me, so now I consider myself a average loser and most other people are average also. Plus I always feel like the word "slow loser" has a negative connotation to it. Of course there are some people who are able to lose quickly but they are "fast losers" and the rest of us are average and a very few are legit slow losers but those people are extremely rare.

sounds like u may have hit a stall!!!!! i was sleeved december 8 and lost steadily the first few weeks ...it was soooo exciting!!!!and then boom!! the scale stopped !!!! BUT where i wasnt losing pounds , i musta been losin inches , cuz i went from a tight 3x top to a xl top .....and a tight 22 jeans to a 16 !!!In just a month!!!!!:)here it is feb. 25 and i havent lost much more ...........my weight the day of surgery on dec 8 was 228 and as of today i am 192-196 on any given day. i feel stuck and feel like im not gonna lose anymore ........my nutritionalist says it usually happens in 3's ..........like 3 weeks, 6 weeks ....3 months ....6 months....i have learned to quit beating myself up over it , and from what i understand , the weight will come off in the course of 18 months ........so ....we have a loooooong way to keep losin!i just hope that is true and i havent quit losin all together !...and im sure u feel the same way !!!! know we are not alone !!!LOL!!feel free to ck out my gallery pics !

Listen here Ms. LADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No giving up, that is not allowed and you are doing a great job. Stay focused, and stay on track. Make sure you are drinking lots of water and taking in your protein. Things will get better and please have a positive attitude, that always help.

I was sleeved on 1/15/13. I went in for my 6 week apt today I am down 28#'s my surgeon said that I am above average for loss. I don't know what your starting weight was but by my book you are doing great! Keep up the good work and be proud of every ounce.

That isn't losing slow....but anyways I will address the issue with slow losing.

The slower you lose.....the less hair that falls out....the better your skin recovers....and the healthier it is. I had months where I lost nothing....and then little by little....those numbers kept adding up, and now...holy cow! I have lost 141 pounds. It took me 1.5 years.....no I didn't drop 100 pounds in 3 months like some guys and a very few women can do....but in the end, I still lost it. Stop worrying about how fast it comes off.....and start enjoying the fact that it IS coming off. Slow and steady wins the race....lol good luck

I'm feeling the same... I was sleeved 5/2012 and lost 20 lbs immediately... then much much slower. I'm now at what... 9.5 months out and my weight has stayed perfectly still, but clothes are falling off of me... including new stuff. I worry what the dr will say and if I'll be counted as a failure, but I've also been getting amazing comments from people about how great I look and I know my energy is better. The last 6 months have been the worst in my life (other issues, not surgery related) so maybe stress plays a part, maybe my PCOS does, and I was <40 BMI to begin... but this is 50 lbs that I've never been able to lose otherwise. I wish I lost faster, I wish I lost easier... but I'm still losing. I know how frustrating it can be but you're doing great!

Thank you everyone for your encouragement and kind words. Most of the time I stay positive, but there are times when it gets hard and its refreshing to hear from other people, and know that I am not alone in this journey. I also didn't tell anyone except my husband, so basically this is my support group... So thanks for keeping me in line and helping me remember --it's all good. Everyday is a work in progress, balancing liquids, food and activities, i just have to stay positive. Good luck to us all!

I lost really fast my first month; however, I was walking a mile a day RELIGIOUSLY and I hurt so bad that I could barely get anything down except protein and water was even difficult. Now 4 months later, I can eat food, so on and so forth and I am working to get back to that protein/water prioritizing and walking every day!! When I do all of that ~ the weight falls off. I am over 50 and I was 300 when I had the surgery so now I am slowing down at 52 lbs down but I don't believe the weight loss has to slow, its all about what I am doing with it. HANG IN THERE, take some action and see what happens, reevaluate what you are doing and not doing and find what works for your body. Peace Out and Happy Weight Loss.
