Hello! I'm five months out and 72 lbs down. In my third stall currently and 32 lbs to doctor's goal weight. So to help with the impatience, I thought it would be nice to hear where folks are at in their post op journey and what changes have made you happy so far!

I was on a beach last weekend and climbed up a sandy incline with relatively little short breath. Amazing!

I can drive my car and my range of motion is great when I turn back to look for traffic.

I love wearing Old Navy stretch skinny jeans in colors never dared before!

What are yours?

I had a very pleasant airplane flight yesterday, pulling some slack on the seatbelt instead of fighting for it to fit, and not having to worry about spilling over into the next seat - plenty of room!

I am off my diabetes and high blood pressure meds.

Happy to have purchased clothes at the Gap, since never!

Happy that I am happy and I must appear friendlier or more approachable at 82 pounds down from 254. People are nicer, men are flirtier, kids at school are more open, and i like the positive attention.

Fun clothes shopping; I window shop first at Ann Taylor, Loft, Talbots, and Nordstrom and then hit the consignment shops and thrift stores to purchase. I've gotten so many beautiful outfits for not a lot of money, which is good, because I've gone down about four sizes since school started in September.

This is happening to me too, mostly with people I have known before losing the weight. I just notice my classmates (I am graduating in May with a Respiratory Therapy degree) are more interested in me and are going out of their way to include me in things. I don't know whether to sit back and appreciate it or feel a little depressed that I had to lose a bunch of weight to be taken seriously. I'm still essentially the same person, just smaller.

I am almost 11 weeks and down 66 pounds. I love being able to play with my son, using stairs and still breathing at the top, and so many more things! I am loving it!

I'm over 4 months out and have lost 74lbs, with much more to go. I'm glad to be able to climb the stairs with ease without huffing and puffing. It is also much better on my knees. :). Life was good before, it will just get better!

I am deeply greatful for the lifting of the weight of feeling unnaccepted just for being over weight. I love the weight loss for the ease and freedom it gives my body. The inward joy of passing by the XL's sales racks today and "needing" to find mediums for the future! I smiled inside all day!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
