Pilates anyone?

Recommended Posts

well I bought a pilates tape - it has the easy, med, and hard going on all at the same time. Me/44, Daughter/20, and daughter/16 did it and we had a blast! I of course did the easy - except the sitting on the butt thing, excuse me but how many of you can roll up from your back onto the butt? I roll over to my side, use my hands and knees to get up and then over to my butt. dd#1 did the med and a little of the hard, dd#2 did the hard all the way through - although she is 5'3" 120 lbs and a cheerleader - but it was fun we laughed and giggled all the way through it - anyone else having fun with pilates?

Right after I had the baby I was taking pilates classes at the gym. It was on a machine and I absolutely LOVED those classes! I was there 3 times per week. I have a pilates DVD, but it's not the same "type" of pilates, so I didn't enjoy it as much. One of my weight rewards is to join a gym, and start taking pilates again. 2x per week is my goal.

Pilates is awesome and it won't be long before you WILL roll up from your back to your butt! It won't even be an issue!!! Keep it up! It's a great workout!! Good for you!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
