Lizv' date=' can I ask was there anything you didn't follow that pulled on staples or anything? Did they do a leak test at hospital? Also US or Mexico?[/quote']

US, my surgery went perfectly, it wasn't my fault or my surgeons. The only 2 possible conclusions anyone was able to come up with were: it happened due to my vomiting in the first days after surgery, or just a faulty staple. They do a leak test before they close you up, but not wore they send you home. The reason being, the stomach is too swollen to find a leak then unless it's a substantial hole. I had 4 different leak tests when I went back in the hospital in the first two days, and an emergency exploratory surgery. It wasn't until a week and a half later that my leak was actually able to be seen on a screen because the leak was small and the swelling took that long to go down. My surgeon finds a pre-release leak test pointless unless there are serious complications in the first day because like I said, unless it's really big, a leak test wont show anything.

Never hesitate to ask me questions, I'm more than willing to answer anything about my surgery. That's why I'm here :)

My surgery is in New York how about you?

My surgery in on Feb 4th! Am also in New York. What hospital? Mine is through Bellevue. But relocates to another bc of hurricane Sandy.

Hey I'm having surgery in lenox hills Tuesday!

I'm scared! I'm not chickening out because I know i need this but I'm just scared lol

Surgery tomorrow for me. I am more afraid of not having it done. Too many benefits from doing it to chicken out!

I'm nervous too but excited. I've never been in the hospital before. But it'll be so worth it! I've got my bags pretty much packed and am working all day so my mind doesn't go crazy. Good luck y'all! :)

Wow, Congrats!!! I wish I could be in your shoes right now...Good luck with your surgery.

No pre-op diet, just clear liquids today and some gross liquid to drink tonight. I have a friend who had hers with Dr Borland and she's 67 lbs down in 4 1/2 months! I am so excited! I can't wait for results like that!

Good luck! I got my pre-op tests done last week. It went by fast, I had to do an EKG, chest xray and blood work.

The surgery center just called me and changed my surgery time to 8:30 am! I have to be there at 7:00! It's starting to feel "real"!! :)

Good for you!! I keep hoping I'll get a call today moving my surgery up. Lol.

How's everyone doing on their 'fast' today? My stomach is growling out loud LOL! I've been drinking water and can have broth and a couple other things - it's tough!! (but worth it)
