Binge Eaters slow loser?

Recommended Posts

For all of us binge eaters that were active before being sleeved. Are you a slow loser? I wanted to check in with all my binge eater sisters/brothers.

I was a bad binge eater would not eat all day till 5/6pm then eat all night or skip a day and binge eat for a day. I was active as well 3 kids and running a company so was always out and about. So I get the sleeve and now I feel like I eat more now then I did before I was sleeved. I move around the same now as I did before. I have only lost about 40lbs in 15 weeks of being sleeved. I always stall out in a 7 week stall ATM. I know I can not be the only one so posting to see is binge eating has something to do with be slow.

TK you for reading and yeah my typing skills on this phone suck sorry about that :)

40 lbs in 15 weeks (AKA not quite 4 months!!) you are right on target, you are doing great :)

you said you feel like you eat more now than you did before you were sleeved??

never understand statements like that (you are not the only one that says that)

if at this point your NUT has you at 1/3 cup - then thats all you should put on your small plate.

don't put more on the plate, then you won't know you can eat more - knock it off

i was also a binge eater. ended up not eating til late in the day like you - then just kept eating- or sometimes i would graze all day

these are the awful habits that i dealt with, and maybe sometimes want to and DO graze on a rare occassion  no one is perfect

to answer your question about binge eaters being slower in their weight loss??? my answer is no - that didn't happen to me

13 months PO - down 103 lbs GOAL - lost most by 10 months :)

like i said - i think your weight loss is great - you are not a slow loser IMO

watch the portions - don't put a larger amount on your plate - then you won't be testing yourself

good luck bud

congrats on 40 lbs

WooHoo

I am 15 weeks out too (sleeve surgery Oct 3rd) and I am down 44 pounds. I would say you are right on target. At least I think I am on target. 40 pounds in 15 weeks is approximately 2.66 pounds per week. That is normal, healthy weight loss. I have always been a slow loser too, but I don't worry about the amount of weight loss everyweek, just that I am losing and not gaining. I have never been a binge eater; however, I used to take in the largest majority of my calories in the evening and I (like you) find myself eating all day now (stoking the metabolism fire). Good Luck to you! Keep us all posted on your progress.

It's 31 sorry hit the wrong keys on the phone so that's been 2 a week for 15 weeks. Sleeved 9/26/12 I count 7 days after that makes me 15 weeks. I lost 10 on the preop but I only count after the sleeve. My doc and nut both say I am slow and they thought it be more like 45/60 at my last app Thursday. I can not eat more then 2/3 oz at a time I eat 6 times a day. I still find time for workouts and get in 75/90 Protein 65/80 ounces of Water a day carbs norm 20/50.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
