H pylori

This is driving me crazy. First my doctor left the hospital then i didnt qualify and now that i do i have this damn bacteria in my stomage. I took a treatment to kill it for 2 weeks and then got the test done and it was still positive. So im on different treatment for it now. I hope this helps. I wanted to get sleeve before 2013 but thats didnt happen. Now im hoping for late feb or march. Has anyone had this bacteria?

I had the bacteria, I took a 10 day treatment and Prylosec for 10 days. That took care of it and I was sleeved right on schedule.

I had h pylori a few years ago. Did the treatment and I took the breath test and had an endoscopic biopsy. Negative for years. You can get reinfected if you eat contaminated undercooked meats, especially poultry. Just do treatment again and follow instructions EXACTLY. Good luck!

I have it too! My last NUT appointment is tomorrow, and I thought I'd be done with everything and ready to submit to insurance/schedule my surgery date. But now I have to have two weeks of treatment, and then get retested two weeks after I'm finished with that. A whole extra month! :(

Yeah I got a letter in the mail from my surgeon saying I tested positive for H. Pylori. I was like “Wtf?...Really?“ lol I just knew that H. Pylori would not be an issue for me...oh how wrong I was lol!

And beware if you get treated for it then do a blood test to check its still going to be positive. Need to do a stool test or breath test. And it MAY cause ulcers but most of the time it doesn't. That's why people don't know they have it.
