How long till Nausea went away?

Recommended Posts

Sleeved Monday dec 10th, still in lots or pain & suffering extreme nausea from time to time. How long did it take for nausea to go away?

Also have random sharp pain in my chest/throat area, feels like I just swallowed a bowling ball, it's an intense searing pain that leaves as mysterious as it started. Anyone else with this? Could it be gas pains from being inflated during surgery moving around?

My nausea went away on the 2nd day, but I def know what u mean about the pain in my chest and stomach. I seem to get it when I drink my Water, I want to say that its air? But I could be wrong too.. if anyone else knows about this I would appreciate to hear some more input about it. My surgery was also done the the 10th.

I felt nauseated for a few MONTHS after the surgery, in fact, I feel like I've become more inclined to feeling nauseated post-sleeving.

You can always talk to your doctor to give you a RX for nauseousness, and I would definitely let them know about the pain!

I still get nauseated if I eat or drink anything cold. My new stomach hates it.

I was sleeved on Monday as well and I had no gas until yesterday. I had a few belches Tuesday and Wednesday but nothing major. Yesterday was a different story.

I might get them on their own but I also got the last ight while eating cream Soup. Every sip I take a have a gurgling sound come from the sleeve. And I can tell it needs to let the food down before I csn take the next sip.

Gas strips. Help a little bit. But for me anyways they are not a cure all.

How are you feeling otherwise?

I just got home last night. Had to spend three nights in hospital. But I'm. Doing better.

I just got back from my EGD to stretch the opening between my esophagus and pouch because of those. My advice is warm liquid and if you have a heating pad, place it on your chest to help calm the spasms. If you have a recliner or any way to sleep at an incline, do so because I ended up inhaling stomach acid during an attack.

They ended up giving me a low dose (2.5mg) of Norvasc for off label use to relax the esophagus and it worked after a few days.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
