For me, salad is a stage 6 food, so six weeks out. Every doctor says something different, though. Did you get a diet plan?

salad has been my favoorite food post op uw ill have it soon

8 weeks for some of us.

2 months for me. I have never craved a salad. I love them but have never craved one until I couldn't have them! So happy when I could. I have one almost every day now.

What my doctor said is to try a little of something and if it doesn't sit well or comes back up wait a few weeks and try it again. I was cleared to have regular food after 4 weeks except no seeds, nuts or popcorn for 6 months.

I was told no lettuce or other raw vegetables for 6 months. It sounds like everyone else is having salads earlier than that with no problems.

I'm on the same schedule. Which sucks because I love salad LOL I dream about cesear with chicken breast on it while others are dreaming about cookies!

Tonight we're eating at a fancy french restaurant in Minneapolis (I think...could be Saint Paul...I'm not from here). I haven't been told when I can eat snails, but FYI...today's the day LOL We'll see how it goes.

Snails are almost all Protein - they should be ok.

Heh heh, and if I soak the toast points in butter and garlic long enough they'll be sort of protein right? LOL

9 weeks pout, I try a small bit of mixed greens a few days ago, so far so good, just chew it well.

Snails definitely not on my I can't wait to eat list lol. Enjoy!

They were delicious as was the duck :P I love fancified french food :)

I started out with sweet butter lettuce at 4 weeks. It has a very soft texture and I never had a problem. I have not had romaine yet.

I agree all Doc's and Nut's look at things a little differently. I have tried and brewed up everything my Nut and Co Ordinator have recomended. My nut does nothing but Bariatric patients and has been for many years. She also supplies recomendation's and some really cool replacement recipes for condiments. Between her and what I know from cooking and tidbits I pick up off the forums, life is good. (My nut is also a healthy food advocate and lives the life)
