Wish I Could Puke Like A Normal Person

Recommended Posts

TMI? As of late I have been BAD!!! I continue to test my sleeve and tonight was the first time I wish I was bulimic. I just have these god awful hiccup - burps which doesn't bring it all up.

Better wish: I wish I would get a hold of

My damn self and get it together already! Out . Of. Control .

Well I have had dumping syndrome 3-4 times from the times I was bad and I am 6 months out. Holy hell it sucks. Sweating, puking, and things I won't mention. The pain is intense. You don't want this to happen to you so try to follow the rules. Best advice I have.

My doc told me I won't get that and I haven't - clearly others have. However- sometimes I do wish I would puke because I hate puking. Thank you for your response

Have you tried Gas-X strips for the hiccups and burps? They work for me.

No because they only come on when I overeat. What I want is to get back the control I had after surgery

Justine get it together girl!! Look you can do this. We have been sleeved about the same time. Get back on track, write down what you eat, measure everything you eat, no more than 2 ounces max at a time. No eating after 8:00pm. No more that 6- 2 ounce meals a day. Set a goal each month for weight loss and track it. What do you want to weigh by December 31st? You got this!!!!!!!

Yep you're right- I think every single day I got this and then I'm at a training or weekends- anything out of the norm. I need to write it down. I do know that. I try and stop but this morning is a new day. I got away from this forum for awhile with all the negativity but came back because of my crap ass behavior and because there are some people I really like and miss. Oh- and my job stresses the hell out of me right now and I feel stuck. I've been considering going to med school but don't want to do anything that will interfere in my kids busy lives (I got my masters degree when they were little). Anyway- So here I am- I big whiner. That not so bad news is I'm not gaining and i may lost a tiny bit too but that's not good enough. I also need to get out walking before the blizzards come :). Thanks!

If it helps, I totally relate.

My sleeve didn't magically remove my hunger, the way it does for other people. And I'm surprised how much I can eat at 3 months out. CLEARLY we still need to control the self-destructive compulsions that kept us obese for so many years.

Best wishes to you!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
