AAAHH! Liquid day 5, didn't end so good.

Recommended Posts

Happy Monday all.

So there I was last night - ready to call it a day and was prepping my lunch and bag of sugarfreeness for work today. Since I was on vacation last week I was able to start my liquid diet without having to be at work and surrounded by the coworkers that graze all day.

Anyway, my stomach was growling and I couldn't have anymore SF Jello and didn't want a popsicle - so instead of walking away I grabbed a slice of cheese.

Then i lied in bed kicking myself for blowing the liquids already.

At least I have the next 10 days to get back on track. And I knew if I posted it then I had to admit it to myself.

And being on liquids at work has been surprising easier than I thought. My coworkers are all on board and supportive (and hiding the candy.) Now off to buy some SF popsicles to keep in the freezer. =)

thanks for listening to me babble! i love this board.

Don't beat yourself up about it. We are all human. Just do the best you can and hang in there. It is not easy, but we can do it.

Don't kick yourself! If we had such utter control, we wouldn't need the band! These liquid diets are CRAZY! You are constantly thinking of food. You are hungry. You are frustrated. Pat yourself on the back. Most folks complain about going on liquids for 12 hours for blood work.

You are doing terrific!!!! Shawn

okay, I've also cheated.... I went straight from a liquid diet for the first week to the mushy foods...... I couldn't handle it anymore, why am I going to kill myself trying to do the liquid thing and do nothing but think about food???? .... so that when I FINALLY can eat food I stuff my face??...Then have to suffer with the PB's because I over ate... well I couldn't take it anymore.

So instead of just wanting EVERYTHING in sight and craving it to the point of being angry.... I munch!!!.... I don't eat alot, I'll still eat my Soups and drink my protien and take my Vitamins..... but when I'm at the office and everyone sits down to eat, so do I.... I stay away from breads, rice, crackers or anything that will expand in my stomach.... and I take very, VERY small bites.

I may not lose the weight as quickly as everyone else, and I'm okay with that.... but driving myself nuts trying to follow this liquid diet was just too much for me...... the whole reason I went through the surgery and got the band was because I couldn't follow a diet!!!!

So there's my confession:faint:

I will admit I was a cheater also...I had a pack of tuna a couple of times. It was only 90 calories and it was good protien. Ssshhh don't tell the doc I work for him now. hehe

It's ok but do really stick hard to it the last week. Every doc has their own protocol for their reasoning.

i'm glad i'm not alone! =) i had clients in today and as they ate there sandwhiches, chips and cookie - I ate my Soup. And i didn't steal a cookie and run screaming out of the building to eat in the car like I dreamt i would. i'm having a strained cream soup instead of the broth for 1 meal lately and i think that helps... it atleast feels like food.< /p>

I am a little confused..... again.... hehe

Your on a liquid diet before you are getting banded? eww... that sucks. Is it for liver shrinking diet? or something you want to do for yourself to prepare for the big change? I am on a liver shrinking diet, but I am allowed one Protein Shake and 2 Lean Cuisines, and a ton of lettuce. I cheated last night and went to Long John Silvers- I had 3 pieces of the chicken and as I chewed and chewed (practicing) I damn near puked! chewed food tastes more gross the more I chewed it. I couldnt even eat it. Maybe my mind is playing games with me! rofl! I dont think I could do just liquids though. Your a strong person to have that much control on your own without the band! My god .... dont beat yourself up over a piece of cheese! Your a human, not an alien! And cheese is protein! They say to eat alot of protein! hehe at least you didnt eat Long John Silvers, like me! ~Raynie!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
