Hey Doxie,

Congrats on the 50lbs:-)

I am a newbie sleeved Nov 7th.

Just wondering what my future may have.

How is your eating now?

Does it hurt to eat?

Are you eating real food?

Thanks for any insight, good or bad

Hey Doxie,

I was sleeved 8/31 so I just made it :) I'm down 32 pounds since surgery. I wish it was more but I'm a slow loser.

For imabear,

I can eat almost everything, but in very small amounts. 1/2 a scrambled egg is plenty. If I eat too much I get a stuck feeling in my chest. Gotta take it sloooow when eating. I overate one time, talking while eating, and the pain was incredible! Took about 20 minutes for it to pass. I hope I never feel that again.

Hey, did you have surgery by the Dr Hanna in Las Vegas? He's an excellent surgeon.

Hey amykins! I think i've seen you around the forum. :-)

Imabear: i had it pretty easy. I was one of those whose doc did a long postop diet. It was about a month before I ate solid food. So when I did, I was ready. I've never overeaten, have never hurt my tummy or sleeve. I do eat something every 2-3 hours bcs I get hungry. And I am back to eating my pre-surgery pace. It doesn't take me long to eat.

The only issue l had was 6 weeks post-op my gallbladder had to come out. That slowed down my weight loss a bit bcs I couldn't exercise.

It's a great life, being a sleever. ;-)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
