Recommended Posts

I'm really upset I can't use elliptical or treadmill. I'm out of town and don't have bathing suit with me. I guess I cam do situps and those type exercises. Any other suggestions?

You didn't say if you were staying a hotel or not, but if you are staying at a hotel do they have a gym with weights? Are you near a store? You could always go purchase a couple of heavy cans/jars of food to do some light weightlifting (arms, upper body, etc.) Since you are out of town you can always donate the food to a local shelter before you leave to go back home.

hey Tex

hurting your ankle? - sounds like you'll be out of commission for a while - no elliptical, treadmill for you !!!! :(

but........you can exercise your hand :)

lift Water btl to mouth then down, repeat, lift arm up, put down - lift up, put down etc. ;)

you deserve a short rest after hurting yourself, but if you want to be diligent - situps are good, maybe sit on a chair - leg lifts - if you have weights with you sit down and do exercises with them -

i wouldn't carry my weights along with me though  - so you can even use some "cans" Soup cans ex to lift with your arms - of course they are totally light, but you will keep your arms limber

forgot your swimming suit - oh well....next time i'll call and remind you to bring your suit ;)

take it easy - don't beat yourself up over forgetting certain staples you use to exercise.

the ellipticil machine and treadmill will have to miss you for awhile - but you'll hop back soon

don't push yourself on a machine - only to possibly make matters worse and rehurt the injury

you are doing great with your weight loss, down 52 lbs WooHoo!!!!!

how long are you out of town? (btw, why didn't you invite me to tag along  ) thats ok "this" time, we're still friends ;)

for now, concentrate on healing your ankle - the other stuff will come in time

take care :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
