Who out there has sleep apnea and went to Mexico for surgery... Or is going to Mexico. How was your sleep apnea handled? Have you addressed it with the surgeon? I'm nervous about being knocked out!

Yeah, I'm taking mine too but I'm worried about being knocked out.... Scares me.

You'll be fine. Im scared to but the postives of this surgery is knocking the negitives out! they are experts.

It's not a worry, as the anesthesiologist is there to keep you breathing and monitor everything while you are out - that's his job!

As long as they know about your conditionin advance they will be looking out for it. Take your C-Pap with you and they'll put it on in recovery.

Yes, intubation happens during the surgery, it's part of general anesthesia. It's when they take you off intubation while you are still recovering in the recovery room and you are breathing on your own again you may need your c-pap. I know they monitored my breathing in recovery and when I got into my room the c-pap was put on. I don't know how bad your sleep apena is, mine wasn't super bad. Sleep apena is a pretty common condition with WLS patients. Our obesity plays a big part is us having it. They know what to do. BTW my sleep apena is gone with the 70+ weight loss I've had. Yay!

Thank you for sharing that. It does much to ease my mind. And congrats on no more 70 lbs and no more sleep apnea. Mine isn't too severe and I have every intention of taking my cpap with me. Also I'm trying to drop 50-60 lbs by March. It will lower my BMI, my risk, and my cost!!!!
