Two Days Away! October 4Th!

Recommended Posts

I can't believe the day is so close! I am growing more and more anxious, but at the same time nervous. At some points in my day, I feel just the need to get it all over with.

My surgeon never gave me a pre-op diet, so I feel like I'm going to be going cold turkey after surgery. I read so much about how everyone had pre-op diets, and I was never given one! It gets me a bit uneasy! Above all, I am hopeful for everything that is about to happen to me. My whole life will never be the same, and I couldn't ask for anything more! I have been so tied to bad food my whole life that I cannot even process the thought of not wanting any of it.

However, this is a time to push ourselves, and challenge ourselves to be the people we all know we can be! I want to be able to choose a healthy lifestyle and use this surgery as a tool to achieve my goals.

I hope everyone is just as excited as I am for their surgeries!

Hugs and prayers to all! :)

I won't have a pre-op diet either. I'm not nervous about that piece - just very grateful as it's so difficult to stay on liquids when you're used to overeating. I'm thinking that post-surgery, it will be easier...

JordannChristina, you are so cute and very sweet. You look very young to sound so mature. I don't have a date yet, but the very best of luck to you on surgery day!

I'm getting surgery on October 4th too! Eeek!

Very strange mix of emotions- one minute I'm excited, the next terrified- especially of potential complications. I've found putting on my favourite music to give me that feel good feeling and visualising myself 100lbs lighter reminds me why I'm on this path.

We can do this!

Xxxx

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
