Zero Carb Isopure - Gnc

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I wasn't sure where to place this but, GNC is having a sale right now buy one get 50% off of everything on their site and then I found a 20% off coupon "LiveWell12" so I am going to purchase the Zero Carb Isopure for post op. I have seen a few people talk about this so I figured why not to switch up from shakes but also just wanted to share the GNC sale as well. :)

Check the price at your GNC. Even with the buy 1, get one 1/2 off, I found that they were less expensive at Vitamin Shoppe. I like the ready-to-drink because of the convenience but they also have powder available. I often split the Isopure into 2 bottles (both 20 oz). I fill both bottles up with a flavored water (many of the Isopure's have a bit of a strange taste to me). I sip on these throughout the day. Gives me 40 oz of Fluid and 40 gr of Protein throughout the day for only 160 calories....... Makes it much easier for me to get in enough protein and fluid - though I'm struggling to get above about 400 calories/day (I'm almost 3 weeks out and still on liquids only - start pureed food on Sunday!!!!! ).

They do taste a bit strange, but they are gold. I liked the orange and the grape best and that's funny because I hate fake grape anything. I wouldn't have gotten the Protein in without it and I believe it helped me heal faster.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
