What Bc (Birth Control) To Use?

I was on the pill for years until Aug. I have been off it since mid Aug. So I can have Surgery in Nov. I know its a bit early but I didnt want to have to refill a script so I just ended it then. I was hoping to be able to go back on to the pill after 6 wks when Dr says ok. Anyone else on the pill still with VSG? or did you have to switch completely? I tried NuvaRing before and hated it. Thanks!

I was told Mechanical forms of birth control until 12-18 months out or once in mantiance.

I was told that the pill is fine and that we still absorb it . I will be continuing taking Yasmin in a couple weeks . Just had to go off for a month after surgery since they can contribute to blood clot issues .

Its all so confussing but if the doc says I cant go back on the pill Im not sure what Im going to use cus I really dont like condoms. and we are only using them now because we have to!

I have a iud and love it

I was told no BC 2 weeks before surgery, and I have to wait 30 days after surgery to start taking it again.

I am getting Mirena IUD inserted tommorow.

I have Mirena and have been happy with it.

Yeah there seems to be a lot of opinions on this unfortunately !

i actually have implavon (sp?) in my ar. its the BC stick its good for three years and i love it. its been known to cause weight gain but they looked at my chart and i was the same weight a year ago when they put it in. i like it because i dont have to worry about taking pills every day or getting shots.

I have implanon in my arm too. I haven't asked my surgeon about birth control but I am next week

I recently removed my paragard IUD to give my body a rest plus after 4 years it cause extremely painful and heavy periods not to mention it decreased my sex drive a bit after a while~ Anywho

I plan on getting the Mirena IUD in next week!

For the ladies who have the Mirena IUD did you get it inserted before or after getting sleeved?

T~

I got the Mirena in 2010 and was just sleeved last month. I won't lie, the first couple ofonths on Mirena were very rough. I had extreme cramping, unlike anything I'd ever experiences before. My periods stopped almost immediately and I haven't even had spotting since then. I am happy with it now but it was not very comfortable at first!
