Completely normal to hit a stall between weeks two and three. I was a "week three staller" myself. Patience is the KEY!!!! Try not to weigh yourself for at least a week. You WILL start losing again!!

Totally normal ! 17 pounds in one week is a TON. Your body needs time to adjust. Sometimes we go through stalls for days, even weeks. My first one lasted 3 weeks. Give your body a little patience =)

I am so glad you posted this! I too lost 17 lbs the first week and now am at the end of my 2nd week - lost 1 lbs a couple of days ago and and gained 1.5 lbs this morning! I have been worrying that I would be the ONE person that the sleeve won't work for, but after reading these posts, I'm so glad to know that this is normal.

I'm with you! I'm 5 weeks post op and have been stalled for over a week. Down 53 pounds with preop.. so I guess 53 pounds in 7 weeks isn't horrid..I am still doing my thing and sticking with it. I also put the scale in the closet today..I think I'm getting too focused on it.

I have faith in all of us!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
