Hi there so your really happy with the service you receive from him?? Im really think about going with him how was the hotel? do you have any recommendation? how much did he charge you?? i send him a email to find out if they have any information for my doctor who would do my fill but they haven't got back to me yet, i did email a other doctor in Mexico and they couldn't give me any information they told me my doctor could come down with me and they would show him down there. so i don't think Im going to go that road.

any info would be really appreciated

thank you

Yes, Dr. Huacuz was my surgeon and is doing my follow up. I am VERY happy with the service provided. The hotel was 5 star and have every amenity you would expect from a 5 star hotel. I was banded 11/3/05 so the price has probably changed by now. Would I do it again? YES! Would I use Dr. Huacuz? YES!!

I went to Dr. Huacuz for my LAP-BAND, and he was the absolute BEST!! Loved him. I don't know anything about the sleeve gastrectomy, but if you have any questions about the doctor himself, I would be happy to share my opinion with you anytime.

:messenger2: EVERYONE

Dr. Huacuz’S office :

-Caring

-Considerate

-Experienced & very skilled.

Before the procedure they did a serial of blood tests, Electrocardiograph, cardiology, dietician and psychology evaluation.

After procedure they did also a fluoroscopy test and Dr Huacuz explain every thing in detail over again of the procedure, after I staid on the Camino Real Hotel that is a five star hotel that has included on the package.

Tijuana is very nice, I didn’t expected so much from the doctors andthe facility. they went to visit me at the hotel also and they treated me like a Queen.

:moony:

what more can you ask from a surgery center and their staff ???

thanks Dr Huacuz and Dr Romero

Good bless

HOW CONVENIENT...AGAIN!!!

Is anyone REALLY stoooopid enough to believe these Huacuz shills that show up and ask and then answer their own questions over and over again?

(Note: Not EVERYONE is a shill, a FEW are REAL patients...but not many. Check the dates and number of posts. OF ALL THE BAND SURGEONS, he has the most people who come here again and again and again trying to recruit patients. What bullshit.)

NO NOS FRIEGUES. The GOOD surgeons don't have to send their lackeys here to drum up business.

You know Sue... I'm wondering what YOUR issue with Dr. Huacuz is? I had my surgery on Sep 29th with him and I have NO complaints. I was not solicited by him for anything... he and his staff were very competent and went beyond the line of duty to make me feel safe and comfortable. If anyone wants to discuss my experience with the Huacuz center and staff feel free to private message me and I'll give you my phone number.

I'm for real and so are MANY people here that have nothing but praise for Dr. Huacuz. His price was extremely reasonable and maybe that's why his competition tries to bad mouth him so much.

Jessy--I thought I was pretty clear...that there were legitimate Huacuz patients here. But there are also this kind of advertising:

http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=19088&highlight=huacuz

And there was this kind of problem reported by a member:

http://lapbandtalk.com/showpost.php?p=228350&postcount=13

I don't know anyone who has "badmouthed" him but that one patient.

NO NOS FRIEGUES. The GOOD surgeons don't have to send their lackeys here to drum up business.

I know what you mean, some of these posts are rather, ummm, odd, to say the least.

But I have to take you to task on the last sentence of your post. "The GOOD surgeons don't have to send their lackeys here to drum up business." If you are implying that he is not a good surgeon because, for whatever reason, people are coming on here and posting this stuff, I VEHEMENTLY DISAGREE with you. I HAVE BEEN his patient, have you?? (Insert your comments of how you would NEVER go to this guy, and that is totally your decision, obviously.) You read these posts and come to your own conclusion, as do others, but you do not need to insinuate he is not a good surgeon, based on strange posts. You also pointed out MISFORTUNE. Well, that is one very sad story which I wouldn't wish upon anybody. I guess he must be the only doctor with a surgery that went bad, huh?? Take a look around, chances are, it has (unfortunately) happened to others as well.

I guess I wouldn't stick my nose in a situation that has nothing to do with me and to which I have no first hand knowledge of, but that is just ME.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
