The past two days have been birthday celebrations at the office. The executives were chowing down on mini-cheesecakes, Cookies, cake...you get the idea. I partied with ice Water. And you know what? I didn't crave the food, I didn't feel left out, and I didn't feel like everyone was watching me.

Woo hoo for emotional victories!

Kewl dude - or dudette - your profile and name give no indication which :)

It only gets better from here!

partied with ice Water

good for you Scully

that's a huge NSV - hard to watch people in your office "chow" down with goodies

ps - rootman, if i were a betting person, i would say 5'3 probably refers to a dudette

i know a guy could be vertically challanged too - but i'll take odds that Scully is 5'3 - ok Scully, give us the poop

I look like Gillian Anderson from "The X-Files"; her character was named Scully. I am a girl.

I am pre surgery (November 5th) and am realizing this is going to be one of the harder things for me! We have pot lucks and share lunches all of the time!! Last Friday I ate my 400 cal lunch and was still relaxing when someone brought in 2 large pizzas! argghhh....it was hard but I resisted--- was pretty proud of myself, but looking more forward to where I don't feel left out or crave it!!

Thanks for sharing

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
