Hi all,
I am type 2 and my surgery is on hold due to my A1C. Half way thru the prerequisite portion of my journey in March, my A1C was 7.6.
When I went for pre-op testing in June it was 10.
They won't do the surgery until I am back to 8. I wish someone would have told me to keep my eye on it. I was irresponsible and stopped testing because I thought, "hey I'm getting this surgery in a few months anyway". I say all that to say, don't stop managing your diabetes as you normally would or you may find yourself in the same boat. On a positive note, I do believe when I have my next test in Sept, I will be good to go. My daily test are looking pretty good.
Thanks for listening.
