Is My Sleeve Broken?

Is it possible to stretch out my sleeve? I feel like I have and I really don't want to ask my surgeon of fear he will yell at me for gaining weight back. Does anyone know if you can stretch it out for good. I can eat so many chips, crackers, etc. just like I did before surgery.

The question is why are you eating them? The food you are eating are slider foods which means they are not good for you

Sent from my SPH-D700 using VST

Do a search on slider foods, that's what chips and crackers are. Quit eating them.

And don't be afraid to talk to your doctor. Doctors don't yell at grown ups, but grown ups aren't afraid to talk to their doctor. Quit eating junk. Start eating right. Your sleeve is not stretched. You will feel the restriction if you eat solid Proteins and not junk.

Uh...why are you eating chips and crackers? Is this just a joke? Well, before I lambasted for being snarky, I have to say if this is a serious post...you're in trouble.

When I did research for the surgery i read that yes it is possible to stretch your sleeve and start eating as before and gain everything back.

How did I succeed? It still sounds funny to my ears to hear that I succeeded. Thank you. Let’s see if I can sum it up. Now, this is my experience and opinions only. I ate/eat per day: minimum 75 grams of protein, no more than 50 grams of carbs, and I don’t count fat grams - not sure why I just never did. I journal my food intake, water intake, moods, and energy level. When I’m not journaling daily I know I’m off track. I have to journal – that’s just me. I really hate to exercise and don’t get nearly enough. However, I do think I’ll need to start tracking and “doing” more exercising to lose my last 13lbs. I’m very weary of slider foods such as: chips, cookies, cheese crackers, etc. Once I start I can’t stop. I’m a carb addict. Once I stop eating “bad carbs” for a few days then the cravings subside (but never gone). Protein keeps me full. So always have to remember to drink my protein shakes and eat dense protein. I try to get at 64oz. of water a day, but I have to tell the truth, I usually fail at this. But I keep trying. Well, that’s what I can think of right this moment. Hope it helps in your journey.

where is the person who wrote it? Come on.... I am sure you can be back on track. put the picture of yourself before surgery on the refrigerator and ask yourself DO YOU WANT TO BE LIKE THIS AGAIN??

Thanks. You are right. Where is that person? I just re-read my post and I don't feel like that person but I am. I guess I'm just having a hard time. Old habits.

you r new here, so how long ago did u have ur surgery?

can you just not to buy all this carb food? Do you cook? try to find the recipe with some healthy option,. I dont' know but something like cauliflower cookies? or something like this?

http://foodstoriesblog.com/2012/06/14/strawberry-shortcake-with-almond-flour-biscuit/

might be it will help with your craving and you will eat more healthy?

It's not criticism, but based on the little bit of information there is nothing wrong with you other than bad eating habits. You just need a kick in the pants.

It's ok, you can be that person again.

Tomorrow is a new day. If you mess up, try again.

Getting off track and gaining some weight does not mean your doomed.

Things happen, and now its time to get back on track.

Have faith!

I had surgery 10/25/10. I'm not new to the site. I mostly just read the posts. I'm not much of a poster but I am really struggling so I thought I would reach out.

I had VSG 17 months ago on 10-25-10.

I've lost 89 lbs.

When I started, my goal was to lose 100 lbs

I am 5'3"

Date of Surgery Weight: 227lbs.

Today's Weight: 138lbs.

Goal Weight: 127lbs.

this is the post of proud person who CAN DO THIS. you did great job. please don't ruin it now.

I support you We're not obese for no reason, it's because we have made poor choices. Your sleeve is a tool, to restrict you from eating so much, not to help you make healthy choices. That is up to you on your own. How long ago were you sleeved? I was sleeved this March, and can't eat crackers, breads, rice, or pastas....it hurts. It is possible to stretch your sleeve, but don't freak out too much, you can still make this work. Try staying away from the "slider" foods, and see what happens. :D
