Wow, so I was on this whole "should I or shouldn't I" trip. Last year I sucked it up and made an appointment to be seen about the lap band. The doc gave me a laundry list of things to do, it took me nearly 9 months to complete them all (as I was dragging my feet!) and then, miraculously I got pregnant, which, was the whole reason I wanted to loose weight - so I'd be more fertile after trying with no luck for 4 years.

Unfortunately 3 months into my pregnancy I had a miscarriage. Devistating as it was, it's motivation for me to push forward with a weight loss surgery. Revisiting the idea of wls, I decided the sleeve sounds like it's better for me.

A new doctor for the sleeve as the old one only did lap band. He says he can use everything I did for the band prep, all he needs is my weight history and he'll submit it to my insurance company. This is all moving sooooo fast. I'm petrified!

On one hand I'm ready, on the other hand, I am just plain terrified. My doc is readying my weight history so I can pick it up tomorrow & take it to the sleeve doc. I could be approved, and scheduling my surgery within the week. Completeing the 2 week liquid diet prior to the surgery - that still has all this possibly happening in a month! I'm scared! Excited, but scared.

I'm sorry for your loss. I understand the feeling of being nervous. I started this journey in march had all of my appts and have my surgery date Sept 25. Yes I know a wait but my dr is really busy. I think before any surgery you will be nervous I know I have had 5 abdominal,2 hand, elbow and finger surgeries. Good luck.

While being scared is totally normal.... Don't be!!!!! This is the best decision I have ever made and something I wish I hadn't drug my feet doing, the same as you. I know that reading a lot the the treads and posts on this site can be frightening its only because people tend to post their struggles looking for advice and answers. I have noticed that most of them are in the first few weeks. I know I was reaching out a lot then too. But now I am still only 14 weeks and I have gotten past all of that. Yes, I stall what feels like every other week, but that is totally normal. Before I found this site I watched a lot of youtube videos and have made friends watching peoples every week videos. I loved going back and watching peoples stories from the beginning. I suggest doing that also. It made me feel really great about it and was nice to see that some people lost slower then others, which tends to be most peoples major frustration. Of course the weight does fall off of some too! Congrats on your decision and I wish you all the best of luck. This is the best decision I ever made, I hope it will be yours too!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
