Gas Pain

Hello all, I am three days post-op and I have lost 14lbs. I'm experiencing gas pain, I feel it rumbling when I move, swallow, and lay down. I was wondering if any one else experienced this or if I should go back to the hospital. It's also taking me a little over an hour to finish a protein shake and I am worried that that's too slow. Any advice would be great.

I CAN'T WAIT TO POOP TO GET RID OF THIS DARN GAS!! :) LOL!

Totally funny! :)

I still have yet to have a bowel movement' date=' should I be worried?[/quote']

Sleeved on 7/30, first bm was rather uneventful this morning. So that was 6th day. So i dont see a need for you to worry.

Im also 3 days post op. What type of protein shakes are you guys drinking? My doc said i can drink anything liquid but everywhere else i read, they say clear liquid. Idk

Just letting you know, if u hadn't had one yet it's gonna be hell. I'm just saying! LOL my second time going almost put me in the hospital. If I had children, its what I would think giving birth is like!

Everything you guys are experiencing is normal. If you are gasy take gas x. I gurgle constantly this will be normal. I am a full two weeks out and have been back to work for a week. The gurgling last awhile. Now about pooping Becareful u don't over eat. You will get dumping syndrome. If your on pain meds Becareful as your first poop will be awful, and when I mean awful, like you never wanna poo again. I know this is gross but it's the truth. Other then that I have lost a total of 11 lbs, in 13 days. I have been drinking all my protein, eating yogurt, broth, soup, instant mashed potatoes, pudding, and jello. Grits were not good to me as the second bite made me sick. Of coarse I dont eat these thing all in a day. I have three meals a day and protein or snacks in the middle. I eat very slow and do not finish my meals. Also work your phases as instucted. Everything your instructions say is absoulty correct. I hope this helps.

I had terrible gas pains post op...so bad!everything your experiencing is normal!just walk walk walk!the gas pain will move around to different parts of your body, mine went to my shoulders!!by day 5 your feeling a hell of a lot better.everyday gets easier and just remember to fart whenever possible lol!

Another thing is,it was a while before I was able to move my bowels.im 9 days post op and had to drink milk of magnesia I think it's called,2 days ago because I just wasn't going.i you reach a week without going I'd call the doctor just to see what they say!goodluck!

I am 3 mths out, almost. I wasn't allowed to even attempt a Protein shake till week 2. I was supposed to be focusing in staying hydrated week 1. I use 100% whey from The Vitamin Shoppe in vanilla and chocolate. They still make me feel bloaty. But they taste fine and help me get my protein in.

you r normal. just keep walking and the gas will pass.
