Mine itched like crazy, too, and then I realized they shaved my stomach before surgery and it was the hair growing back. I used Benadryl cream for a few days and exfoliated so the new little hairs could come out quicker. It only lasted a few days.

I'm almost 5 months out and my stomach still itches. No clue why.

It doesn't last long, but it is extremely aggravating while it is happening! I used extra strength hydrocortozone. It helped, but not entirely. I read another post where it was suggested to lightly slap the area to give the nerves something else to do. I did not know that trick when I was so itchy. I hope it goes away soon!

After surgery my whole entire body itched from head to toe. The gave me benedryl( sorry for spelling) for but it made it worst. They gave me something else and it put me out completely out. I have begun using coca butter oil for the dry skin I developed after surgery, it has helped. Today the itching is gone.

I am 7 weeks out today and I actually have clear stitches sticking out in each of my incisions. The nurse tried to snip them down (they are suppose to be dissolvable.) They are driving me insane because they stick through my undies and sometimes my shirt. I am not sure if it's just my body chemistry or what, but I had a heart monitor and it was removed in December and it took about 5 months for the one clear dissolvable stitch sticking out of it to disappear. Sigh..

Did they use glue? I had an allergic reaction to it. It was miserable. I would wake up itching. I lived on Benadryl for about 2 weeks.

I had terrible itching too - a reaction to the tape and also itching around my belly button where they pulled out the remnant. Crazy. I also got a yeast infection on my skin around where the bandages were and had to take medication to get it to go away. Good luck, I hope it gets better soon!

Oh my! I am so glad you posted this! I actually have a stitch sticking out as well! It is driving me crazy. After showering I think I brushed the scab off my largest incision, only on one end, when I asked my DH to take a look at it he tugged at what he thought was "towel lint"......OMG the pain! Now it is really sticking out. I am hoping to get into my Family Doctor tomorrow to be checked and hopefully she can snip it or whatever needs to be done!

I would visit my surgeon but I was a self pay because my insurance did not cover WLS. I had my sleeve done in Dallas and I live in Minneapolis.

I hope your stitch dissolves quickly and thank you again for sharing your story!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
