Food Cravings are back

Recommended Posts

Bleh! What has happened?!? For months and months I have been doing really well. Eating appropriately and not binge eating aside from a day here and there. This entire weekend and into today (which was a holiday so I was home all day), I have been craving anything and everything. Eating like I was pre-band. I eat one thing and then go in for another. I do not want to regress...I want to continue losing weight, I am only 20lbs from goal. Any thoughts insights ect?

I have cycles of ravenous hunger too sometimes. I just do the best I can and it usually only lasts a day or two. Perhaps you're just having something similar?

Have you recently increased your activity or exercise? When I bumped up the exercise I became really hungry until my body caught up with my new routine. Hang in there!

I know for me once I start with any kinds of carbs or sugar I crave more carbs and sugar, and I eat all day long what works for me to get me out of it it to start the next day and eat Protein only. Protein curbs hunger and keeps cravings at bay.

Oh, Malice-X. I hear you. I've been craving for a couple of weeks, now. And givng in too often. I don't need a fill. My band is working just fine. Lots of restriction. I just want to eat the wrong stuff. I need to get back on track, too.

Stitchy glad i'm not alone but sorry you're in the same boat. I went back to work today (yay for long weekends) and so far have done well. Threw out all of my snackable foods and bought some fruit. We will see what this evening brings. Good Luck!

Maybe it has something to do with the long weekend or something. I went on a major binge this weekend. Like you, I am determined to get back on track today. When I get a craving, I am immediately trying to find something to busy myself with and that seems to distract me and I lose the craving. The lazier I am, the more I crave and eat.

Well it's 2 days into the work week and i'm doing much better, and my guilt has forced me into the gym. Next goal is to keep this going through the weekend...we shall see.

Weekends can be hard to recover from. I have hit a stopping point in my weight loss, I havent lost for like 3 weeks :(

I have noticed that Ive started picking up little hanfulls of chips, or crackers....I like the crunchy salty Snacks.< /strong>

(Too much wine on the weekends doesnt help either)

Old habits die hard, but I have been good the past few days. I made a Sept. list of GOALS and hung them in my bathroom. Also tried writing down the things I eat....kinda makes you think twice about the snacking when you have to be accountable for it.

I've been dealing with the cravings lately too. Feel that urge to slip in to old habits of carbs. What gives me artificial control over the cravings is phentermine 37.5mg - 75mg. I know they say that we should not get hungry with the band....I just have not found that to be the case for me since being banded almost a year ago. My hunger gets so intense that it can spin me out of control - and I'm getting in the appropriate number of calories & Protein. I exercise an average of 5 hours/week - and when I increase that, my hunger spikes as well. My point is, you are not alone in your struggle and phentermine might help. Best of luck - I know your pain!

Yes, I took the Fen-Phen when it was being used for weight loss in 1996 and I got a heart murmur from it. Thank God it went away, but it was very scary. My friend had valve damage from it. Please be careful!

Thank you so much - I certainly appreciate your concerns! As I was told by my doctor, Phentermine is the non-damaging component of Fen-Phen. I have been using it off and on for years without any issues. I only use it now when I am spinning out of control on cravings or when I need to kick off my weight loss again through the liquid phases.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
