I was sleeved on June 20th and I 'think' I am hungry all the time! I don't really know what full feels like? Does chest discomfort mean your sleeve is full??? I get those feelings but my stomach is always growling. I am getting a minimum of 60 grams of Protein and 50 ounces of Water a day. I am still on liquids so I also eat Jello, broth, and popsicles. I have even tried pudding and yogurt! I just feel confused because everyone told me they didn't even want to eat the first week!

I'm 5 days post op also and I'm hungry, esp in the morning. I'm still on Clear Liquids though. I have yet to feel restriction but am taking in everything very slow.

I understand that some people get what is called "head hunger". It will ease up on you soon.

I had the same thing too. My stomach growled a lot at first. I kept trying to say it was head hunger, but it was definitely my stomach! The growling has slowed down (sleeve 5-18-12) but I do get full. It tends to be a small burp or discomfort at top of my stomach.

Gas can mimic hunger. Are you taking a PPI like omeprazole, nexium, tagamet? Ask your surgeon if it would be ok. :)

I was sleeved 6/14 and I, too, have the same growling. I thought that I was hungry. Turns out its heartburn/acid reflux. Once I take my omeprazole, it stops.

No I'm not on any meds for heartburn/reflux. I will ask him when I go in on Wednesday.

I'm on Omeprazole but it doesn't seem to help me with the phantom hunger pains. I also tried Gas X. I have noticed that heartburn (when I don't take my pill) does seem like hunger but it's different than the growling. I just ignore the growls unless it's meal time.

Oh well! I'm just gonna start growling back! Maybe I can scare the Tummy bear away.

I never thought of the stomach growling as hunger, I think of it as healing. Gas pains, being full, being hungry all feel the same in my opinion. Maybe that's what you guys are dealing with "head hunger". Maybe try realizing that the growling and the flipping weird tightening feeling is healing and not hunger and perhaps it will be easier to deal with.

I seriously can't tell the difference. It makes the same growly, tightening weird thing when I eat, when I think I may be hungry and sometimes because I have some gas and it means I need to walk around some because I been sitting in the same position too much and my muscles are tightening up.

Sometimes it's all in the perspective. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
